Same. I haven't found a better youtube teacher. He explains his thought process in clear and concise terms at all points. Best part is he's not full of himself. He isn't arrogant. His personality is refreshing. I plan on going through this series soon and writing down everything of value he says. I feel like it would boost me up at least a few 100 elo points.

There are no words to express how grateful I am for having "met" you, Daniel. You were the one chess player that made me fall in love with this game. The depth and detail that you bring to the table are simply outstanding. Thank you for showing how beautiful this game is and making my life richer. Now I can say I love one more thing in my life: chess. And it's all thanks to the great Daniel Naroditsky. Um grande abraço from Portugal.

I (1580) just played a game against a 1625 where I blundered a bishop in the first five moves, then played absolutely out of my mind chess the rest of the way, promoted a pawn in the endgame and pulled out the win in 73 moves, with less than 1 second left on my clock. And I can honestly say, it was 100% because of the principles I've learned from these videos (...except for the blundering part). You're really an excellent teacher, thanks for paying it forward to the rest of the community.

when blacks queen was on c3 would bishop b3 not be a strong move instead of rook c1? I can see how moving the rook can prepare for bishop b3 but I cant really see past that. I'm new to chess btw

Why didn't Tommy take the free pawn on A3 then retreat down the diagonal? 28:08. My guess is that it's not really free or there is a better tactical choice. Can anyone explain?
@jojohairee99873 жыл бұрын
If queen takes a3 the rook can come to A1 and attack the queen, now the only square the queen can go to is b2, b4,d6, e7, and f8, if the queen goes to d6, e7, or f8 then the Bishop will be lose as it is no longer defended and can be taken with the Knight, if queen goes to b2, the rook can go to A4 and the Bishop will be double attacked by the Knight and rook. If queen goes to B4 the rook can attack the queen by going to A4 then once the queen moves the rook can take the Bishop so white can now Castle. Hope that explains it.
