My favorite Transmission to drive Was an Eaton-Fuller 13 speed!

Not to bad. I went to a vocational school in Cleveland Ohio for three years Max Hayes vocational school (not a vocational school anymore,, lawsuits etc) but it made a difference in life !!! Your students are lucky to have cutaways and animation to aid in the learning process (we didn't have that much) now teach em about the old school 13 Fuller's that had the scalloped rear case that was a pain to assemble in time,, the New redesigned ones use a Christmas tree design and back case cover,, easier to assemble etc, All the best to you and yours Sir.

Will you please explain exactly what disables the splitter from working in one range on the 13 speed, locks the range in what would otherwise be 1st in the main box, and disables the splitter in reverse? On the surface It appears that mechanically it should have all 4 auxiliary ratios available for all 6 main shifter positions thus making both the 13 and 18 a 20 speed forward and 4 reverse. Is it just down to air valves or is there more to it? Edit: so I looked it up. The reason is that the 13 has no bearing between the rear splitter input gear and the output shaft, so if the splitter engages to that gear when in low range where the gear is turning faster than the output shaft and has a load on it because it is driving the countershafts it eats itself.
