When I look at players I try to remember where I've seen there style and I split screen them and compare easy to do I've played and watched hockey for 50 years ! Talent is Talent when projecting !

Absolutely agreed, passing up on Levshunov doesn't mean he won't be great, but Demidov could be something special.

Two weeks ago, I was saying the same thing. I felt like even Reinbacher for instance was wasting a year of development in the Swiss A. People replied "yeah but it's a pro league". True, but so does the KHL, and Reid Boucher was the KHL's 2nd best in pts in 2023-24. My point is that even the KHL is weaker than the AHL, and the Swiss A is a lot weaker. I thought that the KHL was ruining Michkov on purpose because they don't want him to leave for North America. I asked myself why would they rent Michkov to Sochi if they have no room but yet Galchenyuk (for reference) is on the roster? Then I thought that they were punishing Michkov for even looking at North America. That was the same kind of bullshit that people are using on Demidov to scare the Hawks away. I was thinking, what if they're going to do that to Demidov and he'll waste 2-3 years there. I still think the AHL would kick the KHL's ass, and heard the Russians might only be interested in 1way contracts no AHL. Again, it's all bullshit to scare teams from picking Demidov. We're not hearing anyone say that stuff about Silayev! Michkov isn't being punished. SKA wants to win now not in 5 years. He's just the rookie and that's just how it is when teams want to win championships. Meaning, he's a rookie and you're not going to yank a veteran to keep him. Regardless, if they wanted to punish him they wouldn't give him an opportunity. They would bench him or have him as a scratched player. Michkov is being rent is because it's better for him if he plays for another team where he can actually have ice-time. At first glance, I thought it was sabotage to rent Michkov. Now I think they're actually helping him. For the sake of the Hawks, they better take Demidov!

First, I thought Chicago would go for Lindstrom, because I had him ranked 2nd, but over time I changed my mind. I don't think Chicago are going to pass on the opportunity because of Demidov's potential high ceiling. Demidov and Bedard could become the next best dynamic duo since Selanne and Kariya. I am not kidding, which is why I am skipping over McDavid and Draisaitl, because they're not that dynamic. This time around, the Canadian would be the right handed natural shooter, and the international player the left handed playmaker. I project Demidov's ceiling somewhere between Mogilny and Kovalev. I think his floor is something like Igor Larionov or Esa Tikkanen. Like OV in his beginning, Demidov has some Pavel Bure blood, but all three have different styles. He has the same speed as Mogilny and the same playmaking sense. Moreover, he's got also special skating mechanics. He is not as slow as Kovalev but is a wizard with his hands for his age and he possesses the same vision. He's got a bit less speed than Kariya but a bit more stickhandling at his max speed (a quality Trevor Connelly has). His shot is lesser than Kovalev's but as good or better than Kariya's. His partner Bedard's shot is better than what Selanne's was. So if you put Demidov with Bedard, it'll be like putting a Mogilny with a Lafontaine who shoots better than Brett Hull. I don't see how Chicago can escape picking Demidov! Now, if CHI don't pick Demidov, I don't think Anaheim will pass on him either! 🤣 They have the potential to bounce back and revive a rivalry with the San Jose. The Sharks will get Celebrini, so it's only fitting that ANA picks Demidov if he is available. It'll be like Crosby vs Ovechkin all over again. Celebrini vs Demidov! I project Celebrini's ceiling to be somewhere between Crosby and Toews. He's going to become captain of the Sharks pretty soon. In this scenario, SJ and ANA become the best teams of their division and battle it out in the years 2030! Maybe then in 2030 the Hawks regret picking Levshunov because he became a 4. Or maybe they regret picking Lindstrom even if he reached his "John Leclair" ceiling because he only lasted as long as Lindros did or because it took a bit a time for him to become a solid starter just like Leclair; a late bloomer, while Demidov was already a star at the age of 20. I am not so sure Lindstrom would be able to follow Bedard's speed and style, but hey who knows! If I am the Hawks, I am picking Demidov. If I am the Ducks and the Hawks pass on Demidov, I am picking Demidov! 😅 The odds that Demidov gets through the Hawks and the Ducks are VERY VERY low. I think Demidov and Lindstrom will not be available at 5.

@@malakaspawt3190 If I was Chicago I would pick Demidov as well. I think Bedard/Demidov will be more productive than Kane/Toews. That's saying a lot. I really like Levshunov as well. What he has done at 17 years of age at the college level for a D-man is pretty close to what Celebrini did as a Forward...almost. They both did exceptional especially for their age. Celebrini is more complete where Levshunov has a few holes that should be able to be corrected with more experience. His ceiling is high so I can see why the Hawks are looking close. "IF" they pick him their top four D for the future is most likely set for years and will be pretty darn good..... If Demidov is available to the Ducks I would pick him in a heartbeat! The thing is Anaheim doesn't seem to be all that big on Russian players playing in Russia. Verbeek also prefers size and skill with solid two-way play and skating. Demidov might not be what he wants for the team even with his sky-high skillset which would be a shame. The Ducks have a core of amazing centers, where some will switch to the wing. Getting Demidov in his natural position and offensive prowess would solidify their top six if Zegress isn't traded. Without question this draft is going to be pretty fun to watch!

We shall see Rob! I still most likely they look in a different direction, but I think this meeting puts Demidov on their radar.

Some are good enough to play either side, but for the most part you want the correct hand. 3rd pairing sometimes works for same hands as well.

Also, they want the best out of the player when they’re on the ice. Not worth having someone switch sides if they’re best on the strong hand. Has more to do with offense, breakouts, etc. straight up defending with your stick doesn’t quite matter what hand

Michkov was more impressive to me in his Draft year as He had the Best Draft Eligible Season ever from an Russian Playing in the KHL with Men!! Demidov was only tearing up the MHL(Juniors). He could Be as Good But We Don't Know for sure..

@@thomasbgage I think the Hawks take Demidov but they are obviously looking for a potentially elite top line RD. Levshunov's upside is higher than anyone else in their system. High end RD's are beyond coveted by NHL GM's. The Hawks could still pick him. No guarantees they pick Demidov.

Verbeek openly stated he is looking for a top six winger or a top four D-man...especially an RD. With Verbeek meeting with Demidov I have a feeling it will be either him or Levshunov. Either way the Ducks young guns are going to get even better. Just a matter of time before they are a powerhouse and legit playoff team again.

10th would be a HUGE drop IMO, I honestly don't see Montreal passing up on him especially if Lindstrom is gone!
