In Blu-ray commentary track, series creator Alex Hirsch admits that the series might've done too many episodes driven by Dipper's crush on Wendy. The reason they kept using it was because it was the most effective/believable way to drive Dipper to the point of desperation where he'd be willing to so such extremes as summoning a video game character.

“TAKE ME TO THE SOVIET UNION!” Gets me every time. This was always such a very memorable episode, an yet it pretty much only still gets better from here.

Props to Soos attempting to buffer Rumble’s life bar, I honestly thought that would’ve worked

The way they played with the animation style while referring to different arcade games in this episode is my favourite thing.

I kinda like how in this episode Dipper and Mabel both had separated plots. Nice change of storytelling.

My favorite joke in this episode is in the kitchen, "Upper Punch! Downer Punch! Bowl of Punch!" and proceeds to drink the bowl of punch in the fridge.

Also shout out to Paul Robertson for being an awesome pixel artist and providing the pixel animation to this episode!

this episode has some especially great gags, the "that's why I own 10 guns" one gets me every time

it’s makes my heart warm knowing that the gravity falls fandom is very much still alive since is one of those show that although is was very short is so good and so well made you wish for more episodes, more seasons.

Honestly, if I were Dipper, I would’ve just let Robbie beat me up. He hates that Wendy’s dating him, right? If I found out my boyfriend beat up my best friend I’d break up with him in a heartbeat (plus Wendy could/would easily kick his butt).

This is “also” one of the best episodes of Gravity Falls. Definitely one of the best one off gimmicks.

Eric always gives me the vibe that he's a gentle giant and hearing him talk about his experiences with playground fights just confirms it to me.

The best thing about "half your age +7" is that it means Dipper (who is 12) would only be allowed to date a 13 year old. Another 12 year old would just be too young for him I guess.

The Tron joke is so underrated in this episode honestly “It was cool in theory but in practice it was really boring.” I only remember the movie existed because of this joke honestly

Also, if "Double Dipper" and "Time Traveler's Pig" weren't enough for Dipper to attempt to date Wendy this episode was by far where he reached his breaking point. On top of that, I'm impressed with how Rumble McSkirmish is animated considering most of the Human characters and the inhabitants of Gravity Falls give off a standard Digital animation design while Rumble has a pixelated retro video game sprite design to evoke the fighting sprite stance from Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat Released during the 1980's and 1990's.

There is a three year difference between them. Wendy is 15 and Dipper is 12. So there is 3 year difference. Possibly a little less depending on when Wendy turned 15 as Dipper is close to 13.

just to make it clear Robbie (15 or 16) feels threatened and picks a fight with a 12 year old

My cousin and I used to get into physical fights all the time as children. We are the same age and actually we get along quite well but sometimes he was just out to annoy me till breaking point (but I guess I could be very annoying too). But it was never something serious though, until the last time I EVER got into a physical fight with him, or anyone that is. We were 10 and he had a head injury prior to this. He and some kids from the neighborhood had a pillow fight in the garden and the ahole child from next door put stones into his pillow and hit my cousin on the head with it. He got stitched up but it the injury was kinda fresh and he annoyed me soooo much that day, stealing stuff from me, giving me names, throwing little tissue balls at me..... I got angry and at some point I pushed him, a bit harder than I should have, and he bumped into the closet door with the back of his head. His wound burst open again and there was blood everywhere. That shocked me so much, that I never hit anyone ever again. I still feel kinda bad. He was alright though.

I haven't really thought about this before, but I just noticed that Eric and Aaron both look and sound eerily similar? Had to google it and found that they aren't brothers (I would have guessed they were even twins). Anyone else ever thought about that? (I'm just a casual viewer so if there's something I'm missing please don't bully me)

Damn. This show is superb. As a gamer and lover of Ryu i was extremely entertained.

I remember watching this episode on release. It was so cool seeing all the video game references and the pixel art, even if I didn't get all the references then; Which I do now.
