Great Haywood - A Narrowboat Journey on the Trent and Mersey Canal. Starting just south of Great Haywood I approach Haywood lock, and then on to the junction. Then after getting water I turn and head down the Staffs and Worcester canal to Tixall wide. 7th May 2019.

Thanks again Phil for a great vlog, good to see Tixall Wide again where I moored up early one January some years ago, cold and frosty but clear blue skies, fond memories. Well done.

At 8.47 you passed our old GRP cruiser. Pleased it is still afloat but I would not have left it so close to the aqueduct:)

The iron bridge must be the most beautiful bridge on the canal.

I like all the different iron bridges, their styling, patterns. Can't really pin words on why I do, I just do. And, we don't have those in the American midwest.

Enjoyable as usual. Haywood Junction - Anglo-Welsh does offer pump out, cheap diesel, chandlers and small shop. Service is excellent. It can be tricky getting in and out, though, especially if a lot of their hire boats are in the basin.

Another great video with great information about services. This is another canal I'd love to see...so peaceful. It's funny about the trains. Here trains are really loud but there were a few times we moored near tracks and really, the trains were not intrusive at all.

Yes my thoughts about country lanes as well as most have a 60 speed limit (as far as I know) when they should be no more that 30 (or less) Yet on many A roads (that can be at least twice as wide) where people are likely to be & have pavements the limit is often 30mph. Not as most drivers would though take any notice without some kind of enforcement.

Here in the States we have drivers mowing down Children in School Crossings. Sad world when you can't take a safe walk to get what you need.

Yes, this was a good ´food for thought' comment from Phil... I like the idear of reducing country lanes to a single lane with "passing places" every 30/40meters. The remaining road can then be used to make a safe track for walkers and bikes (who would also respect the "passing places" rules...)

Man made tixall wide the then landowner insisted if the canal was coming across land he wanted it to appear as a lake.

Hi Phil, Just a quick thank for producing very enjoyable videos. Your commentary through them now is perfect. Nice to see the cats coming out without fear at the end of this video.. Our only criticism is that you didn't play your wonderful closing music at the end, I suppose this is being a bit picky. We appreciate the work involved in making these videos and we think you've got it just right. Look forward to the next one. Ian and Angie.

Thanks for that vlog, that's inspired me for another adventure during the summer. I'm taking the boat to Newark next but when I come back definitely gonna follow your route up the T&M, I've gone as far as Fradley which I covered in my vlog but the scenery and canal beyond it looks really good and I could do a bit of a circuit and come back up the Coventry Canal. I do like the shallow locks took much easier when for a single hander. Thanks.

Thanks again Phil for an interesting vlog, I'm puzzled that not all fellow boaters say 'hello', surely if you're passing close to someone and slowly, it's the natural thing to do? I suppose you get grumpy people on the waterways just like anywhere else. Love to the cats, xx Sally

Most are friendly and do wave or say hello. It's just that the camera you are viewing from is up at the front of the boat and I am standing 50 feet behind it. So the greetings are out of view.

In a tangential yet connected thought; yeah, crop circles are interesting, but show me a canal circle, that will be _Really_ interesting! _(Hmm, maybe Tixall Wide is a failed canal circle?)_
