This was the first NPI video that I have watched since your 'Eight years as a boardgames reviewer' video - I meant to comment on that as I had so many thoughts & so much love to send, as always, but live and ADHD struck! You were right about the huge growth in production values but the passion for boardgames; the desire to share that passion for everything great, mediocre and sometimes absolutely terrible; and the underlying humou, they have always been present and they're the reason why we keep watching and keep supporting both of you. You did get one thing wrong though. You're not boardgame reviewers anymore, you have become boardgame critics, of both the games themselves and the wider hobby/industry. It's an important and much needed role. Back to GWT, I have just played my first two games of GWT and I wanted to come back and rewatch your review having played it myself. It's taken me two games to completely retain all the rules, something that is frustrating but I know have to accept for this weight of game since becoming so ill two years ago. I've wanted to learn to play it for about four years, so I am very happy to have finally done so. I think that once I can start actually playing effectively, I will really enjoy GWT! I do have one issue with it though... There's no green player! :-D

I completely agree with the sentiment here. GWT is great and i'm amazed at how differently you can play it, although i find myself going for cowboys every time. Maybe i like cowboys.

I sold Mombasa because it doesn't work well with two players. GWT appears to be better with two.

I require a theme to captivate me but this could never do that, I have no beef with the concept or the designer but If I received the game for free I would play it and even after the first try i would not put it out to pasture. Does the game require an app ? out of the box is there a lot of housekeeping ? do you have to manually cowculate anything which the app would do for you more efficiently ? I thought that the game would be an udder bore fest but it doesn't seem to be from this review.
