Easter Saturday begins at the first daylight hours or before when the lambs are skewered, ready for roasting on the spit, over a bed of charcoal.

I sympathise with you over the head. I personally am vegetarian, so won't be eating any of this today, but it's a long-standing Greek tradition. Lambs will be spit roasted all over the country this morning too, after everyone has been avoiding meat in the preceding period, so it will be a big family occasion where people have gone to the villages if their roots, to celebrate that new start of life after "Christ has risen" (Χριστός Ανέστη)

@carlossantiago323 There are plenty of Greeks in the US, so I'm sure you'll track down some who haven't been able to travel to Greece for their Easter celebrations.
