I thought it was pronounced uh-nol-ee. Very interesting found a couple of babies in our yard and for the first time wondered how they came to be.

This ain't the same but while gardening today I actually found a Green Anole egg 😊 Was my first time ever finding a reptile egg out in the wild so that was pretty cool. Thankfully I wasn't doing any hardcore gardening today was just picking out leaves and sticks from my flower bed so I didn't damage it but I marked the area so I can keep track of it (would love to see a baby 🥺) put it back in the same spot it was in covered it back up and will be a lot more gentle gardening in the future so I don't potentially damage any nests. Side note I found your video while trying to figure out what species the egg was 😉

They are a lot more exciting than a lot of other lizards in my opinion.. because anoles are very active throughout the day while a lot of other lizards and amphibians will not move around that much. Especially when you have a mix of green and browns, the browns are even more active than the greens.

We had those in our back yard when I was a kid living in GTMO Cuba, back in the 80s. I used to catch a few of the giant ones. I saved one from the neighborhood bully that liked to kill these (and other animals) for fun. And I saved the life of a regular anol (from the bully) that was stunned and not breathing, by doing cpr on it. I was about 10. I also discovered how to find eggs and hatch them in plastic cups of dirt. My mom has a video of me holding a regular Anol egg, inside my hand while the lizard hatched. Yep, back before Youtbe and it still has never been uploaded anywhere online yet, to this day. I just thought I would do a search " How to find Anol eggs" , now in my 40's so I could try and find some for my kids, next summer . So they can have the same experience I had, because in South Carolina I don't know if they lay their eggs in the same type of places as I used to find them in Cuba.

I watched a green anole lay one a few weeks or so ago in my garden. I wanted to try to hatch it because I found it, but do you think it's a dud ? I candeled, and seen a little something red in there. I'm hopeful

We had those in our back yard when I was a kid living in GTMO Cuba, back in the 80s. I used to catch a few of the giant cuban tree anols as well. I saved one from the neighborhood bully that liked to kill these (and other animals) for fun. I did cpr on a regular sized one, at the age of 9 or 10 . I also discovered how to find eggs and hatch them in plastic cups of dirt. I probably hatched out hundreds. It was all dor fun and the experience of it. My mom has a VHS video of me holding a regular Anol egg, inside my hand while the lizard hatched. It was one of many I incubated in containers, full of semi moist soil. The humidity and temperatures was perfect ( on our back porch) in Cuba, for doing this. Yep, back before KZfaq and it still has never been uploaded anywhere online yet, to this day. I just thought I would do a search " How to find Anol eggs" , now in my 40's so I could try and find some for my kids, next summer . So they can have the same experience I had, because in South Carolina I don't know if they lay their eggs in the same type of places as I used to find them in Cuba. It was in dirt at the base of plants. I just gently dug them up with my bare hands.

I have two green anoles female an male and 3 days ago she laid an egg. I did what you did with the egg. Any chance u have some tips for me. The male is huge biggest one I’ve seen yet, the female she smaller but healthy crazy the size compared to him. I feel like he is stressing her out. Because he chases her a lot wanting to mate or I guess territorial because I’ve seen her hide and it makes me sad because I feel like he a bully I had her first and she is just dont Baskin the sun as he does do you have any hints or tips how I can kind of calm him down or get him off of her I did separate him. He is in 10 gallon as she’s in a 10 gallon and only momentarily them being separated. Also I never seen her so I made the choice good or bad but I see she is out now an green as can be
