His origin, relationship with Peter, and attempting to ruin Spidey’s life are pretty much the only things he gets to do. As cool as his portrayal is, you only bring Goblin back unless there’s a new direction or purpose for him to fulfill.

I would've liked him causing some trouble in the MCU more. Concept arts had his hoodie being HAMMER tech merch, which I imagine would've hinted that in order to upgrade the glider and suit he broke into HAMMER after escaping, killed a bunch of people, and stole a bunch of tech. I'd like to see maybe some repercussions like maybe in Armor Wars they have one of the opening scenes or something be just the Goblin flying by dropping pumpkin bombs and laying waste to a facility (maybe the one Ned mentioned in NWH)

What makes Goblin such a terrifying villain is that there's no reason to what he does. If there is a reason that motivates someone to do something, there are limits to what they'll do because there WILL come a point where an action will not align with the reason. That's where they'll stop. But Goblin? There's no reason behind his actions, just pure anarchy. Ergo, there is literally no limit to what he will do just for the sake of doing it. It's his boundlessness that is so scary.

The original green goblin is one of my favorite villains. He was broken by society's constant mistreatment, so he turned to his "bad side", seeking retribution and chaos on society. He initially offers a team-up to spiderman because he found resemblence in him, another guy with a loose screw in his head, condemned by society and yet doing something erratical as helping people regardless. Once he realizes that spiderman is not broken like him but consistently enduring society's hardship, he then follows spiderman around and throws even more dilemma at him like "you will never know when a lunatic will come along with sadistic choice of killing dozens of civilians or sacrificing your loved ones" and tries to prove that it's foolish to be a hero when people are cruel. He constantly tests him so that spiderman can see his point of view and hopes for him to realize saving "these disgusting people" is pointless. Spiderman refuses and believes in the good of people like his uncle Ben and his aunt. A broken man seeking vengence on humanity vs a scarred man trying to save and find good in humanity. This is so poetic

People sleep way too much on the "I was how she trapped you, fighting her holy moral mission(...)" quote. The pushing to be good, the expectation of sacrifice from a hero. I know that's the point of Spider-Mans story, but it also brings attention how Spider Man is also expected to be good and sacrifice things for others. It gives a certain "understanding" where Goblin is coming from.

When Norman knew about the Goblin, he gave in cause he was him. Why didn’t they use that in No Way Home. Norman may have no memory of what he did earlier but he had flashbacks of it and he was also afraid of having everything he’s worked so hard for and sacrificed

Because Norman was terrified, he could not take the sheer horror of being thrust into another universe where assumingly he or his son does not exist. His rational side tried defeating the Goblin, but because like you said the Goblin IS him, he could never win that fight, at least not alone.
