How do you get subwassertang into such a nice bush? Is it attached to something or what. Beautful tank and music perfect. Thanks.

Nice tank..! I would like to put my blues on white sand, Have you noticed any fading color of the shrimp, in order to blend in...?
@ShrimpTanksStuff3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! No color fading with the lighter substrate. Can easily spot the ones need to be cull too
@2869may3 жыл бұрын
@@ShrimpTanksStuff I was lucky and got a pretty straight line of blues, that would look really good on sand. Thanks for the info.

After 1 month cycling, did you do any waterchages before adding the shrimp...??

Yes, I do water change few days before adding shrimps

What’s all that stuff you put inthe tank before the sand? And what’s the purpose of It
@ShrimpTanksStuff3 жыл бұрын
Benibachi minorekuton powder & bee max. Minerals and enzymes beneficial to shrimp overall health. It is optional, but used it since I started shrimp keeping recommended by a friend. You can read more about it.

Where can I get the oxynator?
@jfy13 жыл бұрын
How often you do WC and do you vac the gravel
@ShrimpTanksStuff3 жыл бұрын
I do WC weekly now about 5-10%. For gravel vacuum, Once in a while like once in two months 😅 Might do more for this tank coz of the light substrate.

Shrimp Tanks & Stuff I asked cuz I have the exact set up. Green jades on white sand and eveytime i VAc I feel I just push the shit into the sand more and it becomes dirty

I'm planning on buying multiple colors of shrimps. Can I mix them together? The solid colors. Green, blue, yellow, red.
@ShrimpTanksStuff3 жыл бұрын
Assuming it is Neocaridina. It depends, If you dont want them to lose their solid color & get brownish wild type grade then No. If you dont mind and just want to enjoy a variety of colors in one tank then Yes.
@cbh5483 жыл бұрын
I had mix all kind of high rate of neocardina in my tank year ago then now i see all is Black rose or so! One awhile red and blue come out but not the yellow! Barely seen the wild style or maybe just bit of lucky!

Why do you use the Oxydator?
@ShrimpTanksStuff3 жыл бұрын
Claimed to be beneficial to aquatic critters and added boost of oxygen.

Is 10 gallon tank good for starting a shrimp colony?
@ShrimpTanksStuff3 жыл бұрын
Yes, I personally think it is a great size to start a colony especially if you're new to shrimp keeping. Water stability is key.
@2869may3 жыл бұрын
When doing water changes, Drip the water back in slowly. and more small water changes are better than fewer big ones for stability.
@Nanoscape302 жыл бұрын
What kind of water did you use? And why did you take the plastic tube off the sponge filter in the beginning? Does that help the sponge filter in some way? Great 📹
@ShrimpTanksStuff2 жыл бұрын
I probably just forgot to put the tube back 😅 I am now using just tap water. However, I used to mixing ro water with minerals for neocaridina too for quite sometime.

:( I really wish you woudln't add snails to these tanks
@langenandanimals4 жыл бұрын
I have snails and shrimp together, I think they're pretty safe tank mates. Have you had trouble?
@Lloyd_Christmas114 жыл бұрын
@@langenandanimals Snails and shrimp occupy the same niche. Both are scavengers. Snails will often outcompete shrimp for food, their breeding will get out of control (especially when you use Bacter AE), and thus will be a constant source of ammonia in the tank. Simply put, they will prevent the shrimp from thriving at the level they could. The shrimp would breed more, have more successful pregnancies, and have more survival of baby shrimp if he wouldn't put those stupid snails in there. Not to mention they are an eyesore.
@langenandanimals4 жыл бұрын
@@Lloyd_Christmas11 I think they're adorable but I do understand the out breeding issue. My tank one tank is endlers, cherry red shrimp, and a bunch of volunteer snails and the shrimp and endlers are still breeding well but it's just a display/pet tank Im not "breeding" for breeding.
@ShrimpTanksStuff4 жыл бұрын
I can understand why you do not like them. I personally put them on all my tanks. I usually dose bacter ae weekly(grain size) when shrimps are in and have not any problem.Their population will only get out of control if you overfeed. As they are good at eating left over food shrimps does not finish( If I cannot get it out). Overtime ofcourse they will multiply and as shrimp population grow, I simply pick some out from time to time. I have no problem getting shrimp population to couple hundred in a 15g and you are right can probably have more without the bio load of the snails. Depends how you keep up with maintenance/ water change. Having snails in your tank is a preference. Do what works for you. :)
@langenandanimals4 жыл бұрын
@@ShrimpTanksStuff for sure. I've only had my snails get to out of time once in 3+ years
