Reflections of Life

3 жыл бұрын

This pandemic hasn't been easy for any of us. It has been terrifying and exhausting. It has been a time defined by loss - of freedom, opportunities and lives. And the year ahead will continue to be difficult to navigate. The world around us is in crisis and we’re trying to hold onto everything that helps us make sense of what has hit us. We have lost the feeling of certainty that gives us a sense of safe belonging in this world.
We are all collectively living through uncharted times, and this is when we need people to lean on. We need to find ways to be there for each other, to help each other through. If there is any silver lining to be found, it has been rediscovering our collective capacity for compassion.

Be like water, aware that water follows the path of least resistence, not stagnant. Maybe it's time for humans to leave herd-dependent mentality and survive independently, creatively, autonomously ... in unity with the creator. The world was broken before 2020 in herd mentality of competitiveness and greed, so maybe it's time to reinvent the wheel, but not one at the expense of another ... with God at the centre, the fulcrum. Wonderful presentation of the simple life. Thank you🌹

As an introvert, I have appreciation for the time away from others. I have finally had the opportunity to learn about myself in an unhurried, unplanned lifestyle. When in public places, I do wear a mask, which still allows me feel somewhat hidden from others. I treasure this moment. I know it's hard, but take what you can learn about yourselves and apply them. Listen to nature for direction when others are not available to you. Relax and enjoy whatever is available during these times.

@@123prestolee I don't see wearing a mask as an "awful agenda." So when you see people who still wear them, understand it is their choice. You don't know the reasoning behind their decision. Because believe it or not, there are times when the choices we make are not about politics.

@PDogB
@PDogB 3 жыл бұрын
@@123prestolee In america, the "muzzle" is no longer enforced in many places and venues have begun opening in select area(s). There is an "honor" system near me where we can shop without a mask if fully vaccinated. (Having received both vaccines) Also near me, many have chosen to not wear masks early on and have resisted in businesses which posted requirements to do so whilst patronizing on their property. "It's our constitutional right as americans, to not be forced to wear a mask," some will say. Our former president told us it was not necessary as well, so it turned into a political statement, etc. So, your comment may perhaps have a different meaning in the UK around the mask issue. I just needed to say my choice is not based on politics, or complying with a political stance or agenda in any way.

Another "WOW", GR. "...we are not conscious of everything that's happening emotionally and we act that out irresponsibly." Yes! If there's anything I've learned in my years as a Psychiatric Crisis Nurse in addition to bearing witness to my own life, this sums up so much of the harm we do to ourselves and each other. That, and how we fight against one another because we perceive a lack of resources, compete against one another for them and are merely trying to survive. So much wisdom in everything Cathy says. "Ultimately, the herd knows it's survival is dependent upon the herd." Goosebumps and kleenex at the end. Her words about the head and the heart...oh my...YES, YES, YES! I was thinking of this earlier this evening Bruce Lee and "Be like water" so to see this here, was a great confirmation of my cosmic conversation. My take on that is to be water, to go with the flow of life don't do the things that feel like they're Upstream if you're fighting anything, struggling with anything including emotions, like anger, resentment or jealousy you are resisting life itself, your birthright and all of its infinite blessings. Otherwise known as the Tao ☯ or Chi. Balance. Non duality. Unity consciousness this is how we save the planet. The river of life is our joy, wonder and well being. All else is illusion. How do we reach out to each other, how do we help ? A good place to start is to practice a generosity of spirit...just be there...start small...chat to other people in a supermarket, or in public areas...you will be regarded ad being strange...but persevere...talk about mundane things...the weather ,your pets, your hobbies etc...there is comfort in the mundane...smile (behind your masks), that smile will transfer itself to your eyes and be apparent in the tone of your voice.....that’s a start and then the rest will follow. Help comes in many shapes and forms...a grieving person who just does not have the energy or the will to prepare food for themselves....cook extra and take a tub of food over to them....be there when they need to talk....most of all the attention you give to your pets...make each pat and stroke a meaningful gesture...the love you feel in those moments will bring on the most incredible peace and serenity. We all need to learn to love again.

Around 7min she speaks of the hard heart, with the sound of water in the background. So beautiful. Reminded me of this verse ... "Thenceforth were your hearts hardened: They became like a rock and even worse in hardness. For among rocks there are some from which rivers gush forth; others there are which when split asunder send forth water; and others which sink for fear of Allah. And Allah is not unmindful of what ye do." Al-Baqarah - The Cow - 2:74 (Sura: 2, Verse: 74) - Quran

YOU, lady speak my language. Baie dankie! Yup ... I received that same inner message. The message said: Surrender your pain and guilt.... Let it flow...Go with the flow. Take the path of least resistance. Drink a lot of water and when you're stressed go for a swim OR take a shower. Otherwise just put your feet into water. Allow water to wash away your fear, heartache, the cobwebs in your head and all the tension from your body. X ta. Lekker dag.

Having always been a loner even when around people, this pandemic has given me time to do a lot of grieving, for the grandson I don't see after raising him for years, to my dad who passed away during the busy years of raising my grandson.Its necessary grief, and sometimes there is even joy as I remember games I played with my grandson, and watch horse videos as my dad was a horse whisperer.Cathy has it right, be like water, be part of the flow, sometimes through tears, sometimes through delight.

Such a lovely, wise lady. People can be so wrapped up in what they think they want that they don’t stop to think about what they actually need. This pandemic gave us the perfect opportunity to press the pause button and listen to our hearts, to work out what we and the planet actually need, but still people are stamping their feet and starting every sentence with “I want...” Unfortunately most people like to have someone else to blame for things going wrong...if I hear one more person say “It’s not fair”, I’ll scream. We need to look at the bigger picture and “be like water” moving around and over obstacles to find another way.

Cathy almost made me cry - I feel like she touched my soul- said things I couldn't articulate. Ive been very anxious because I don't know what to expect anymore in our nation; our world. Yes, I am grieving life as I know it. On the other hand, being an introvert, the lockdown let me be alone and not feel guilty. I didn't have to find excuses to say no to requests. I felt a burden off my shoulders. Thank-you for your video. God bless you. 🌻🥰

Everything about Cathy Winter suggests simplicity, the need to embrace only the basics, ....allowing her gainful time to mull over the things that really matter , in the wake of COVID ..the emotions that drive us, the need to reach out to each other beyond the physical. She delves deeply into the complexity of Grief, and sees every need for all of us to overcome our deep seated hesitation,and reach out to one another, allow our hearts to crack open to let the light in . How far , we have individually distanced ourselves from the joy of bonding. In pursuit of what? "What are we? We are nothing, but every thing. Of course!" I would love to view many more of Cathy Winter's enriching videos. Thank you Green Renaissance.

I think this is the most poignant short film you have made yet and I have watched nearly all of them. It's very interesting that you released it today as earlier when I was in deep thought, I was trying to pinpoint exactly what was going on in my heart in other words the emotional changes that have come from all of this in in your film and the lovely woman says that our hearts have cracked open and that they were all hard. Well I must agree. Even myself a very soft person when looking deeply must admit that I have a shell of hardness which needs to be cracked open to get to the goodness inside. Since the pandemic began I believed in my heart that it is a movement for good for the Earth and that it is a divine inspiration to change people to love each other more to have empathy and compassion for each other. And I think that you've captured all of this in this beautiful short film. Indeed, let us be like water. ❤️
