I love that Greg Graffin provides a model for how a super legit punk rocker can age with dignity. For those of us who didn't succumb to heroin addiction in our late 20's, or later suicide (despite what may have been our best attempts) and now find ourselves with natural gray hair, a small collection of polo shirts, and playing unplugged more often than not. And how he lives his theory that punk rock is form of folk music. Such an intellectual giant of the movement.

Playing bad religion for someone who never heard them on a long trip to a jobsite in 93? Right when recipe for hate came out and after hearing kerosene and other songs he said " it's like folk music to punk rock " absolutely Bryant wherever you are today.

Greg Graffin always liked that kind of music. When he was just a kid in 1992 (Along the Way VHS video if i'm not mistaken) he answered an interview stating that he used to listen polka and country music, and those songs influenced him to reach his own style. his taste in music never avoided him from writing and composing many of most important masterpieces of punk rock history

If I may, allow me to recommend Hank Williams’ complete demo compilation. I believe it is called Alone With His Guitar. To me, once they started over producing his songs, a little magic was lost. But his demos captures the energy, emotion and rawness that make for a beautiful album.

It's interesting all of the Bad Religion fans who are surprised by his music taste. He's said plenty of times that the inspiration for Bad Religion is bluegrass. You can hear it within every song in the melodies, harmonies, etc. It's like he took those artists and brought it into punk rock. Whether you like those artists or not, they are the reason you like BR's sound so much more than any other punk band.

Greg YOU do not have to worry about the music you have made. You are a huge nail in the history of Rock and Roll in the best most stand up for your right and true belief in the birth of Generation X Punk Rock. So. Cal Punk too feeding the birth of extreme sports. Skateboarding vertical half pipes and pools, short board surfing, snowboarding and more. You me and many others are the old people never knowing what we will become. We may now have careers and be fathers/mothers with bills a house and all BUT STILL PUNK AND INTO PUNK ROCK! Succeeding where the hippies failed standing behind our thought of right and truth. Not the propaganda of the MSN and mob rules. Feel proud and know your work will be stoked by many long after you are gone too. Great music you have made THANK YOU AND BAD RELIGION honestly. Professor Punk

"I think of myself as a prolific artist and not everything is that great" I'd really like to hear what he thinks is not that great within his body of work. I love pretty much everything he's done from the not-so-successful bad religion albums to his country stuff and American Lesion.
