We know Venus as the evening star which lights up our night sky. This planet reflects a lot of light and is nearly as big as Earth. We would feel the same weight on there as we do on our home-planet. But Venus is a lot closer to the sun. She also turns very slowly and - compared to other celestial bodies - backwards. She doesn’t have seasons but a lot of water on its surface. She is covered by clouds basically all the time, which generates - together with the gases in her atmosphere - an extremely strong greenhouse effect. This means that it is very hot and not very habitable on there. Additionally, due to a missing magnetic field it is hit by solar winds directly. But there is still some hope for life on Venus.
