Mercury is the smallest planet in our solar system and it is the one closest to the sun. There are massive discrepancies in temperature between day and night meaning that it is incredibly hot at daytime. Its atmosphere is very thin and practically non-existent. Its surface is very similar to the one on our moon and mercury reflects light only very weakly, so he’s very dark on our night sky. He has many evenly distributed craters and although rotating very slowly he has got a relatively developed Magnetic field. This planet swings considerably between extremes and there haven’t been any signs of water yet.
