Hi Dayle! Firstly I want to give my condolences on the passing of your grandfather. Regardless of how long we have with them, it’s never easy to lose a loved one. Next I’d like to share a bit of my own “grabbing live by the horns” moment- there’s a reason though so bear with me. For many years, I’ve been self isolated and closed off from the world. I recently got the opportunity to meet with a large group of friends in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I was terrified to make the trip but I’m so glad I did. It was absolutely transformative. While in BA we took a day trip to a little open market called Caminito. While there we saw the most beautiful and friendly pidgeon of all things. Without thinking about it, I instinctively said “Hola Gary!” Some of my group thought it was silly until I told them about you and your fabulous Gary purse. After a while the whole group was calling the adorable little birds Gary! It made me smile and I hope if you get the chance to read this it makes you smile too! I hope you have the best time on your Paris trip and make tons of amazing memories. ❤

I'm so sorry about your grandfather. I am glad you are going back to Paris. The BEST way to see a city is to just walk - aimlessly and without a plan. I walk until I literally drop when I'm in Europe. I'm going to Vienna in August and am so excited. It's my favorite city and it'll be my 10th time there.

So much to say here, I feel like we are having similar experiences in life…I’m so sorry to hear of your grandads passing❤ between my parents and in-laws and friends’ parents suffering from dementia, cancer & passing away the last 2 yrs I’ve seen so much loss recently. But in happier news, I too just returned lfrom a girl’s trip in Europe just last night with 12 days away! It was so good for the soul! Condolences for the loss of your Pops 🩷. I go to Paris most every year in the winter. It’s fabulous! I wear predominantly black with pops of color and different scarves. It’s my favorite trip because I keep the wardrobe so simple! Take a fabulous coat or two because that’s all anyone sees and stay simple in winter…You’ll have more room for shopping and wonder why you ever packed so much! It’s so nice to go with no real plan and simply get lost in that beautiful city! Many days we do very little but stroll 🌸🌸

I did a similar trip in France this year - 1 month without any appointments, just enjoying each day as it evolved. Classic me, I took just one carryon (though this included 3 pieces of outerwear) 😂

The loss of your pops must seem like the end of an era Dayle. Death is something we can’t escape, no matter what our circumstances in life are. The one thing I know for sure is your pops passed on some pretty incredible DNA to his granddaughter, because she is a spectacular human! This is a quote I’ve always loved, “If I can take one step forward, my grief will not be a place I stay for very long”. 🤍 On a happier note, Paris!!! Omg it is going to be so much fun! I really hope you are able to vlog a little once you get there but who could blame you if you would rather not! I don’t have children so I can make this statement without hesitation. There is nothing on earth more rewarding than travel! One last quote that I also love: “Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer”! ✈️
