If you give it a tome of knowledge (to get to level 2) you can instantly take the shaemoor waypoint from the first story instance.

Absolutely, and it's gotten even easier with end of dragons and the release of the jade bot mastery.

@@BoogieSchmerzbold the jade waypoint is like a stronger Position rewinder when you think about it, you can put it next to heart npcs when doing hearts, or near vendors while farming a map.

To do that kind of thing you'll need all griffon masteries. That'll take some extra grind.

I'm a bit late with my response but apart from looking at the different maps and where i had to go (where the portals are specifically) i did this in one go. If i had practiced it would have looked a lot smoother.

@@someone_7233 I had a look around the maps where i had to go (mostly to know where the portals are and if there are any major obstacles to fly around) before recording but generally speaking, yes, this was done in one take and i use the griffon all the time to get to places. Using the griffon for travel is easier than it looks and definitely achievable for anyone who's willing to join some Wing flying workshops and learn the basics. I added some stunts to make it a bit more fun to watch which definitely made it harder but if you're using it purely for travel it's not that difficult.

Good catch! Long story short, my griffon thinks i'm diving (which triggers fast endurance regeneration) without me actually initiating a dive. This is a somewhat advanced technique and difficult to explain purely in text form. Yes you can flap your wings

Not really, wing flaps are mostly to maintain height; what you see them doing here however is a trick to recover or maintain speed, if you hold the dive button then hold the ascend button (keep both held) your stamina will recover as if you're diving while you're ascending, that way you can reach back to the height you started or beyond. This is a trick you must learn to maintain speed with the griffon for an extended period of flight.

You need to press your mount/dismount button shortly before you take off with your springer.

we call it a minijump: wingflap + tap climb for 0.5 second Benefits of it are that it is a precise mini pullup and it does not cost as much speed as if you only used the climb button

You can get a lot of levels from POIs, WPs, and Vistas. HPs as well since you'll need them to build your character anyway. It turns out Heart Quests aren't all that necessary after all. An XP booster while riding around helps a lot too

Well, i can confirm as of 2 weeks ago. I did explore the map without completing any hearts or events. Its doable but if you go for heropoints too it becomes harder. My run was 100% all faction cities first. After that every faction map 1-15. Every faction map 10-20. So on so on. Basically a roullete of zones. But around around level 30 zones i reached between lv35/40. But noticed i had too skip heropoints duo too lack of armor upgrades. If you already have funds.. then yes upgrade gears from the tradeposts. Sadly, i did this run on a fresh account first character. It was a struggle. Eventually.. once upgraded u can continue your way too 40/45. But then u notice upgrading becomes so much of necassary too not get one shotted by random mobs. I geus with a flying mount its perfectly doable. I did all this with my free 11h raptor. Basically i got too 71% tyria completion.. untill my mount expired. Must have hit lv58. Logged out with a burn out. Made new account. Never looked back. Was fun at first. After a while it just got tedious. If you wanna level a character this way. Have atleast a speedy mount or griffin. Makes it such less painfull. Then, not sure if tyria would be explored when you reach lv 70.. i suggest leveling crafting prof. Too 400. For the last 10 levels. Should be an interesting way too hit 80. Have fun and goodluck!

That's a bit difficult to explain without showing you in person. When a griffon dives it has a faster endurance regeneration and that hover trick that you mentioned basically makes your griffon think that it is diving without actually doing the dive. If you want to learn how to do that i'd recommend getting involved with the griffon flying community since there are plenty of people who can teach that trick to you in person.

Do you mean the speed of the griffon or the ability to fly stunts like that? If it's the former, you need the griffon masteries and once you've got them you can dive (usually with v) and then use the same button that you use to flap your wings (usually spacebar) while holding the dive button. That way your griffon gets really fast.
