Looks like forehand backswing is too short to generate extra spin and power. His serve also isn't great. Just an OK player

I had heard he was talking to Becker to be his coach, would be awesome if that happens. I'm positive it will have a huge impact on his second serves and overall attacking game. Unfortunately there might be a conflict of interest with the DTB/ Germán Davis cup players

This guy is super talented, but I got to say that he has reached his limit and hard to win any master title in future unless he is willing to find an 'old school' coaches to work on his transition games as well as do some changes on his weaker backhand.

His serve has a real weakness in it too. If you watch it closely, there's a kind of glitch in it that makes him lose power and consistency

Dimitrov must be the perfect example that you can have the absolute best technique and physical strength, but if you're lacking mental strength and play the wrong shots in the wrong moments you won't win anything major in this sport...
@jaymacdonnell4730
@jaymacdonnell4730 5 жыл бұрын
You’re not qualified to judge who’s a top-tier player and who isn’t. Dimitrov makes millions a year playing a sport where very few even make it to the top 100. And those that do generally don’t stay. You can hypothesize on what it takes to reach the pinnacle. But for a non-pro observer it’s sheer speculation and, quite frankly, arrogance.

@@jaymacdonnell4730 lol, u sound like a butthurt fanboy. I can say my opinion on whatever and whenever I want, so who are you to tell me I shouldn't be allowed to judge over him. You literally must be a huge fanboy of him unless you wouldn't be blinded by his huge weakness that may never bring him any major title... And what I've said is nothing that hasn't been said by old legends of the sport, he has everything except mental strength and cleverness in crucial match moments... this is why he will never win any slam as long as the big 3 are in place... and even without them, if he doesn't work on his mental game it will never happen... dream on!!!

I honestly think his problem is in the lower half of his body; he still appears "gangly." He needs to bend more at the knees, strengthen his legs, make them the core of his stability. Watch some of the earlier videos of Federer practicing footwork when he was younger. The steps need to be shorter and the legs need to work more as a unit. This helps most on grass.

that's just how he is at this point. whenever i look at him, federer is not the one that comes to mind. if he actually tried to emulate him there wouldn't be such a drastic difference visually. the style is different as well. it obviously has some resemblance but meh, it looks like he watched federer play a lot but he is obviously not trying hard to polish it.
