➡️ This video shows my step-by-step deep cleaning of the Smart grinder pro. I take you through a thorough cleaning from the hopper to the Impeller.
➡️ Over time, coffee dust and oil can get into every nook and cranny of a grinder. If they aren’t cleaned out regularly, they can affect how long your machine works for and the quality of your brew. Fine particles can overwork a motor and cause it to fail, and oils can go rancid.
To prevent this, you should aim to clean out coffee build-up every few months for regular use.
➡️ This is a series of 6 videos about how to maintain and get the best out of your Smart Grinder Pro, Eureka Specialita, and the Niche Zero
How often do you perform a deep cleaning on your grinder? Let me know if you have any questions that you’d like me to cover

Excellent video. I finally had the confidence to give my Smart Pro Grinder the deep cleaning it sorely needed. Really appreciate the step by step process. (As others have noted in the comments, I also uncovered that little felt washer, and was very careful in handling it). My machine now looks like it did the day I first purchased it. BTW, I love this grinder. It does a consistently excellent job. Again, thanks for the great explanation.

Another washer below the impeller and then a fabric ring below that. Remove them before vacuuming. I like to clean out the chute from the grinding chamber that goes down to the portafilter holder/grinds container as well. This is where alot of plugging up can occur.

As some have already mentioned- this video does not show that there is one felt washer and two metal washers under the impeller. I saw the felt washer, but missed the metal ones when cleaning the grinder with the wacuum cleaner. Later, after I reassembled everything back together and tried grinding, the coffee came out way too coarse even when I changed the settings to the finest. I found out about the washers from another video and luckily they were still stuck in the vacuum cleaner.

We have had a BCG820 for quite some time, and I never realised that removing the impellor was so easy. So now it has had its first 'deep clean'👍. You maybe able to help on another matter, when adjusting to a finer grind that is from 'drip' to 'espresso' the grind figure 'dances' and takes quite a while to settle down to a 'stable' figure. Can you advise why it does this and maybe what could or should be done to sort it out? Other than that it appears to work fine.😇😇

@@BogartAus really? That is weird! What was happening to mine was that if I was grinding on setting 5 and wasn’t fully centred on that grind number (mechanically) then I would jump mid grind either to 4 or 6! Which was really annoying. I now have figured out how to keep it still tho..: why won’t yours grind smaller? Have you opened it up yet?

Your fingers will probably work just as well, if not better, than the knives for removing the impeller.

To get the impeller out - just turn the grinder upside down and it will slide out. None of this knife mastery stuff.
