This song is the single/radio edit version. As was the practice of most record labels at that time, the LP version was usually longer, or had a different sound mix, Extended Mix LP/CDs were even longer.

House is a music genre characterized by a repetitive four-on-the-floor beat and a typical tempo of 120 beats per minute. It was created by DJs and music producers from Chicago's underground club culture in the late 1970s, as DJs began altering disco songs to give them a more mechanical beat. She was still in diapers when house music started. Nevertheless, a nice song.

She's got one other awesome song worth reacting to from that era. Forgetting the name of it but she had MC Lyte and Yoyo and Petra, all big early 90s female hip hop artists, in the video as her homegirls rolling on the car with her lol. Update: found it! It's called "Keep on Walkin'."

That's some great 90s Dance/R&B! This was Cece's first big hit, and, most would say, her biggest. She did have several other major R&B hits, though, including "Keep On Walkin'", "Inside That I Cried", "I'm In the Mood", and "I'm Not Over You". I also recommend from this time period/genre "Gonna Make You Sweat" by C&C Music Factory, "The Power" by Snap!, "I'm So Into You" by SWV, "Now That We Found Love" by Heavy D & The Boyz, "Don't Walk Away" by Jade, and "Baby" by Brandy. Something I didn't know - CeCe went to Trevor Browne High School in Phoenix, Arizona, only 4 miles from my house! She was also Miss Black Arizona of 1989!! One final fact that will blow your mind - this was released as a single the SAME MONTH as Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

The 90s was sort of a peak in music, and by that I mean that the mainstreaming of both rapping and sampling was the last truly revolutionary innovation in popular music. In other words, every song made since then, even if it's indictive of the era in which it was made, also sounds like it could possibly have been made in 1998. This isn't a good thing or a bad thing, it's just an observation, and I think the first time I truly noticed this was when I heard "Rather Be" by Clean Bandit on the radio, shortly after hearing "Finally" on a different station, and I realized that if I could go back in time to when I DJ'd teen dances, I could slip "Rather Be" into a setlist and it would sound totally normal. Edit: I want to be clear, I know that there's always innovation in music, I'm not saying that the EDM of the 90s is the same as today's, or that nobody's doing anything new, but what I'm saying is that the only things that are objectively changing are 1) the shifting of genres and subgenres, and 2) mastering software getting better and easier to use. Up until the 90s, think of how world-changing the innovations were. Recorded music. Electric instruments. Guitar effects pedals. Synthesizers. Rapping. Turntablism and sampling. The musical world before and after each of those innovations is massive.

Welcome to the wonderful world of "House Music!!' This was one of the BIGGEST hits from the early era of 90's House. This was such a MASSIVE Club BANGER!!! You guys don't even KNOW!! The House music genre was just getting recognition & mass exposure largely due to this song. To be in a club dancing to this & other House Music classics w/my friends was some of the BEST times of my life!! For other essential 90's House classic tracks be sure to check out: "Ride on Time" & "Everybody, Everybody"~ Black box "Moving On Up ~ M People "Gypsy Woman" & "100% Pure Love" ~ Crystal Waters "Good Life" ~ Inner City "Rhythm is a Dancer" & "The Power" ~ SNAP! "Missing" ~ Everything but the Girl "The Whistle Song" ~ Frankie Knuckles BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL PLEASE CHECK OUT: "SHOW ME LOVE!" ~ ROBIN S. *1993* No other song exemplifies the early House Music genre & scene MORE than that classic track!! You can't count how many times it's been sampled & used as a interpolation of a "new" song. **BE ADVISED** there is another song w/the SAME title & sung by a Swedish singer named RobYn her version came out in 1995. Love her!!! I still have her first cassette tape release of this song!! I think it had 6 versions of the song on it. Like original radio release, radio mix, dance mix, funky mix etc.!!

This made us dance! Defenitly because this is a dance mix. There was an original version (pretty danceable too). CeCe's voice reminds me a bit of Jocelyn Brown. She was the vocalist for Incognito's "Always There". The 90s were fire!

This whole week, wherever I go, it's all 90's, all the 90's music. Everywhere, all week. And only 90's. So, yeah, I saw what you were listening to today, I was like, yup, let's go. And I knew you two would love it. You should listen to all the songs on the Pentatonix video of 90's dance medley, and then do the Pentatonix video. Oh, I happened to have the list for you, feel free to skip the ones you already did, which is quite a few of them. Be My Lover - La Bouche, What Is Love - Haddaway, Around The World (La La La La) - A Touch Of Class, Better Off Alone - Alice Deejay, Gonna Make You Sweat - C & C Music Factory, Rhythm is a Dancer - SNAP!, Boom Boom Boom Boom - Vengaboys, It Feels So Good - Sonique, Everytime We Touch - Cascada, Blue (Da Ba Dee) - Eiffel 65, Deep Inside - Little Louie Vega / Hardrive, Show Me Love - Robin S., Waiting for Tonight - Jennifer Lopez, Beautiful Life - Ace of Base, Believe - Cher, Gypsy Woman - Crystal Waters and...finally, Finally - CeCe Peniston

CeCe Peniston is a force on both the Billboard Dance and the Billboard Hot 100 charts. This song was CeCe's debut hit. The song peaked at the #5 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and it peaked at the #1 spot on the Billboard Dance chart during the summer of 1991 as well. I love this song a whole lot. What a banger song indeed!!!

My favorite by Cece is "We Got a Love Thang". She influenced so many artists in the 90's. Lots of positive energy. This "Finally" was later added to the Soundtrack of the movie "Priscilla: Queen of the Desert" and later Broadway show of the same name.

Yeah, dance hits from back in the day..you need to hear CeCe's "We Got A Love Thang" as well. Other dance tunes also, like Lonnie Gordon's "Gonna Catch U", Cathy Dennis' "Just Another Dream", and Black Box's "Strike It Up".

My favorite song by her is “ Crazy Love”! In the late 80’s - early 90’s there was a hot dance craze, everyone wanted to dance, even MTV had a dance show, and even Arsenio Hall had a dance show briefly after his talk show. Finally was one of the hottest of many songs in that era. In the mid 90’s that dance era gave way to full out gangsta rap and grunge rock.

This song takes me back to the early 90s when I was hitting up this teen dance club in the Metro Detroit area called Danceopolis during weeknights on summer break and sneaking into an actual club called Clutch Cargos (I used to carry in the records for DJ Stacy Hot Wax Hale) on the weekends and sweating the night away on the dance floor!
