2 жыл бұрынAfter a decade of sharing Jeff Grosso’s unique, raw commentary with the world, Love Letters to Skateboarding is coming to a close with this special final episode. Hosted by Jeff’s son, Oliver Grosso, and weaving together the powerful storytelling of Jeff’s closest friends and some of the most influential skateboarders of all time this grand send off honors Jeff’s legacy. Jeff’s love for skateboarding shined through in everything he said and did, and there isn’t a more poignant example of this than his time on the Love Letters. The series will live on as an eternal encyclopedia of everything skateboarding holds dear and a reminder of Jeff’s lasting impact on the culture and its community.

I met Jeff in '92 in Huntington Beach at a bar called Taxi's, he was with Scott Ian of Anthrax. I was a 20 year old wide eyed, fairly average skater from a small town in Scotland who's first proper skateboard was the Grosso toybox. Jeff was so down to earth and happy to talk for hours over a few drinks, i'll never forget that night - Grosso Forever, keep rippin' Goo.

Jeff Grosso single handedly taught me everything i’ve needed to know about skateboarding and more. He hated skate coaches but i’m thankful i had him as mine, i strictly follow the Grosso School of Thought. Thank you for the years of guidance and wisdom, thank you for giving me a sense of community and understanding. It seems so weird never having met someone but feeling so connected and close with them it’s odd how skateboarding can do that to people. I grew up from a little 12 year old to the now 21 year old worshipping The Love Letters, studying them, obsessing over some even. The way Jeff viewed skateboarding was so beautiful and so unique he changed my life forever. That is the power of a passionate human being, and an even more passionate skateboarder. Thank you for giving this misfit, and so many others, a sense of belonging. GROSSO FOREVER.

I'm an old skool skater and I'm very close in age with Jeff, we're born one month apart. I didn't have my son until I turned 50 so now I'm going to be 54 with a 4 year old boy. This shit really breaks my heart cuz I couldn't imagine not being there for my son. I just want to say that Jeff was blessed to have such a great group of friends to be there for him and his son. Although I know that I don't have that kind of bond with any of my friends I will definitely cherish everyday that I get to spend with my son that much more... Thank you for this inspiring letter 🤙🙏

I'm so grateful to Vans, Six Stair, and Gross for making Loveletters happen. Grosso's skating and oral history of skateboarding has meant so much to me over the years. It's hard not to even push down the street and not think of the Gross Man. Knowing the history of skateboarding makes this wooden toy even more special. GROSSO FOREVER!!

Thank you guys for sharing Jeffs memorial with the crew here in Mammoth. Given the circumstances it was an incredible weekend. I skated with most of you folks, Jeff included, back in Virginia Beach in the early 80's when I was 12 years old or so. Never did I think in my wildest dreams that at 49 I would be skating again with you in this situation at our Volcom Brothers skatepark. RIP Mr. Grosso, years of skating and enjoyment from you sir!

GROSSO FOREVER! This cannot be the last episode! It just can’t! The legacy of the love letters and Grosso’s legacy can not be over! VANS, this has to continue. You have to continue to sell Grosso merchandise! What this man stood for means so much to so many of us! I wanted to be him and still do. I’m a grown man with my own son named Oliver! I cannot imagine him growing up skating without a Jeff Grosso influence! I bought 3 pairs of the last Grosso but really need you to reissue them, I’m wearing mine our! Peace and love to the Grosso family! Friends and fans!

I really miss this show. I never got to meet him, but when we tried handplants back in the day, Grosso was who we tried to emulate. For a while we had a magazine cut out of him doing a sad plant taped to our ramp. I think I layed down one or 2 he would have approved of. RIP legend!

I miss him so much, God bless his soul. I hope this series gets started again for his memory, I feel this was his legacy, he might not be the best skater, but he is among the few that understood the essence of it & can relay it to the average joe. Hope this series gets started again somehow. To me the love letters made me pickup my board again, left it in 1988 picked it up again when I encountered the 4th season of love letters, every time he said "what? you are still here, what are you doing? go skate!!!" I'd pickup the kids and go thrash the neighbourhood, he was overwhelming, I honestly miss the dude. Much obliged for Vans & the loveletters crew for the tremendous effort. And thanks to Shekler for his smalls, my little ones are stoked.

Grew up skating in Toronto, Canada. Spent most of my childhood on Black Label skateboard decks and entered adulthood with nothing but respect for John Lucero. With the passing of Grosso, I'm starting to consider that my time might be limited on this earth. No better way to spend it than giving back to skateboarding. Going to see if I can't apply for some municipal grants and get some more parks and spots built in the city. Maybe start a donation program to get little freaks free skateboards. We'll see. Clocks ticking. Thanks for the inspiration, boys. Grosso Forever.

Great documentary. I meet Jeff at ymca skate park in redding ca 1986 . Gave me a set of hosoi rocket wheels and a shirt . Still have the shirt . Wish I still had the wheels . I put those wheels on my board and thought I skated better cause Jeff gave them too me . Was great moment of my skating life . RIP JEFF 🙌🏻

Jeff Grosso.. was a guy who got me back to skating. I was out for 9 years due to trauma after I dislocated my shoulder, tore my MCL ligament, and broke my left ankle 2 times... After seeing Jeff's passion for skateboarding through Loveletters, I decided to go back to skateboarding... and I bought the Antihero classic eagle board as my gratitude and respect to him...
