I came to this realization years ago during my healing process. In the past, I used to use "daddy issues" as a crutch and an excuse to feel sorry for myself. God has been so good to me. I made the choice to forgive.

I’m Muslim.. and I wish we had imams like this.. you are amazing!! God has gifted you with wisdom.

I was so toxic from abandonment and abuse, God sent strong and courageous replacements as mothers and fathers. They were amazing and kind and was able to look pass my faults and see my pain. I was like the Lion that had a thorn in his paw and someone needed to help me and remove it. Glory to God for my warriors that didn't let my roar run them off. God is and has always been my true father. He show me everyday that he will never leave me nor forsake me. I thank him for this daily.

My ex husband sucks as a dad. He picks the children up and puts them down like they are toys, not even his favorite toys. Has never tried to teach them anything, so I have had to raise them independently with his interference. He has dragged my name thru the mud, all the while I never stopped them from spending time together when it was convenient for him. It melted my heart to hear them say while they were speaking to each other, "daddy only deals with us to try to get Mommy back". I cried because they formed that opinion of him on their own, not by my influence. Then again I cried because they feel the rejection/hurt from him that I felt, but worse because they are children, his children. I'm not the best mom by far, and have made many many mistakes, but atleast my children are my only priority. I have never had a earthly father or an example of one. No good relationship with my mother either. I have always known I was God's child because none else wanted me, I was nobody's daughter. Because of that I have "come this far by faith", and have been so so very blessed. I live by the Footsteps passage and the serenity prayer.

Bishop Blakes, this is what saved my life. I stopped expecting and equating my parents LOVE as the deity love in my life! That's not so. I learned this lesson at 16 years old! I HAD TO FORGIVE MY PARENTS OVER AND OVER! So many areas you covered in this video are powerful and actionable. I am still here because God has always been with me! I THANK YOU FOR BEING A FATHER TO MANY INCLUDING ME!

I am 58 and been going around the same mountain for over 40 years with men. Married twice one long term relationship all Narcissist... finally, 6 plus weeks prior to shelter in place I decided to sit with myself. I stayed away from my Narcissistic father who I played dominos with for 6-12 hours on my off days. But he was egotistical, though he was God, talked negatively never happy with gifts I brought him on and on... but when I started my self isolation I begin to see that I married men just like my father. Now I realize that I must limit my time around him because I attract the company I am keeping. I let him know that I have to save myself. I forgive him and prayed for him. I want a chance to one day have a covenant relationship. I cried when you said in spite of everything you are still here. And I am kind caring and extremely giving. I am an essential employee a Registered Nurse with a Masters degree- but God. Thank you Pastor Blakes. I am not Fatherless God is my source. God Bless us all 😇🙏🏽💕

What your saying about fatherlessness i had realized that on my own a few days ago and God has tried to show that to me most of my life. He's told me when a car was coming straight for me at 7 years old to jump and I did... The old man was only doing 25 and it made me throw up later that day but I could of ended up underneath the car because of the old man... and then another time he told me not to go that way which I did and to go the way I was looking to go there was a man in the way, I would of had to pass him or just go a different way... The man picked me up and I was only about 6 or 7. The man decided to put me down because there was so many people looking at us... then I ran home... So I have heard God or an angel looking out for me all of my life but like you said we get so caught up in this world that we don't see what God is trying to do for us... Thank you!

At 50 years of age I have relational struggles for all of my adult life. Not until I started studying with you have I obtained some form of peace and understanding regarding my inappropriate, unfulfilled, and inadequate relationships with men. I too am choosing to transcend this father wound. I thank God for all your guidance.

You helped me release the resentment and bitterness buried within my spirit and brought me so much clarity. Thank you so much!

God placed this in my heart some years ago. I was listening to another one of my favorite pastors Dr. Charles Stanley and he spoke about this (he grew up without a father). He did put food on the table for 8 to 10 children that was NOT his. After hearing this knowledge. I have been healed.. I have to share with the masses of hurting people. resonates 100 i was orphaned by age 12, raised most of my life by my aunt and her hubby [he attempted incest with me]. he suffered from cancer the past 2 years until he died late last year, and i realized i had a lot of bitterness towards him cz the whole incest incident was covered up in shame and secrecy by my fam. when i started speaking out about it my aunt and her children all came attacking me. so i have cut myself off from all of them, even though they provided for me as a child. but i realise for my own peace, i still have to forgive them as the parental resources who failed me in this regard. he died late last year and i had a dream about him where he was leading me in prayer earlier this year.

My heavenly father adopted me an rescued me from self sabotaging. Am empowered the more becoming the best version of myself holistically unapologetically.

Dear pastor, how I wish I had found your wisdom sooner in my life. I'm a 59yr Hispanic lady, divorced twice. Both were physically abusive and verbally, emotional as well. I feel like it's to late for me. My dad died when I was 11years old and my mom threw me out of my house at age 15. I'm trying to figure out how to live again, but I'm so alone, all my friends are dead and brothers too. This has really helped. I have always wondered why I gravitated to older, wiser people -both women and men. I have received nuggets of wisdom from each of them. I never understood until this message why they accepted me and shared freely with me. God sent them because my parents weren’t equipped to give me the knowledge. They only shared what they knew to do.

Thankful for this message! I am 41 years old and grew up in a children’s home. God put two men in my life who made a major impact on me. I'm, listening to this in complete agreement this Sunday morning. I seem to always feel dark, a cloud that drifts around me then I looked around. The only light that I had on in the house was the bathroom. My house was almost totally bathed in darkness. It was indicative to my general mood. I have already prayed, mind you, and lifted my petitions and gratefulness to the Lord, but I did not notice all the darkness that manifested itself as a dark house. I flipped on my lights as I listened to you, but it was still because God reminded me of my prayers of thanksgiving.
