5 жыл бұрын

Les Diablerets is a small village perched in the heart of the Swiss mountains at the foot of the Glacier 3000 ski area. There are three main ski areas next to the village but Isenau and Glacier 3000 are the most popular, with the latter boasting the area's highest peaks. Glacier 3000, got its name for its position atop the 3.5km-long Glacier de Tsanfleuron and has had an increase in popularity since the 2014 opening of the incredible Peak Walk by Tissot suspension bridge.
Perched on the Bernese Alps, the 3,210 high massif near the Les Diablerets village is the highest one in the canton of Vaud. In the Middle Ages, the rock wall of the massif, known as the Devil's Skittle, was regarded as a dangerous and cursed place where the devil lived. Hence, the name “Les Diablerets“ which is derived from the French ‘le Diable’, or the devil.
Today all that has changed. Les Diablerets and indeed the whole area of the Vaud Alps has become a wonderful playground for tourists and locals alike. With so many activities to offer like hiking, climbing, biking, ballooning, rafting, skiing, snowboarding, sledding and snowshoeing in the winter, this place is a true paradise. Indeed with 74 lifts in the region including a train, six cablecars, 9 detachable chairlifts, 2 ordinary chairlifts and 27 ski lifts, the area is a mecca for winter sports and mountain enthusiasts who will find a variety of good hotels to select from as well as plenty of chalets and apartments to rent.

Fantastic video. Ive only seen Les Diablerets when skiing there a few years back so its a good contrast to see the rugged mountains under all the snow. I would encourage anyone to visit the glacier just for the views alone, but if you ski its a fantastic experience as well. I'm back there in Feb 2023 and cant wait to get up on the peak to peak walk again.

I would have a second heart attack too lol!!! Imagine if the clouds came in when you were on that bridge!!! That is what i loved about the alps was looking at the clouds come and go with me in the clouds. I loved the view on the cable car. Imagine having to go to the store and you lived in one of those high mountain chalets, would be a 4 day journey. I loved looking at the buildings in this video, thank you for sharing. Watching in Canada.

I know right!?! It’s fascinating to see how fast the clouds changed the whole ability to see. Most people are able to drive to their chalets but there are some that you can only reach by cable car or hiking up. Wild right?

I was there last week! Thank you very much for filming these places that I didn't see (because there are too many things to do there). We walked to "La quille du Diable" which is the rock shaped like a menhir. There is a small restaurant there, called "Le refuge de l'Espace". The food was excellent and the owners were very nice. I really recommend it. I have a question: do you see Lake Geneva from the edge of the Tissot bridge? Thanks again.

Germany, I was surprised that the Swiss allow a glacier to look so dirty (even if it was August) I thought so orderly and clean Switzerland is they would paint even their glaciers to look white and clean, but what I learned today that even stereotypes about Switzerland must not always be true.

From Switzerland - the bears just came recently from Italy over the alps. Also some wolfs. There was a big discussion if they should get killed as the mountain people were scared.

@@GrowingUpWithoutBorders Wow… that’s amazing. It depends on how long you are going to stay. 1. IF you like site seeing in Cairo then I recommend the following destinations a) National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Ein as Seurat - Old Cairo, b) Khan el Khalili bazar and Souq in Old Cairo, c) Cairo Citadel “ Saladin Citadel”, d) Nile cruise - I recommend to reserve Cafelluca Boat tour, d) Shopping - Cairo Festival City Mall “ CFC” in Fifth Settlement - New Cairo. 2. If you are into white sand beaches and turquoise sea water then head to the North Coast - I recommend Al-Alamein Hotel in Marassi Village, if it’s pricey then you can book any accommodation you find suitable in the North Coast. 3. If you like Diving then head to Sharm El-Sheikh or Hurghada 4. If you want to discover ancient Egypt then head to Luxor and Aswan and don’t forget to Experience the unforgettable nile cruise If you need any further assistant during your stay I’ll be happy to guide you.

I would think there are real live bears in Switzerland. Because there are bear here, around Onamia, MN USA. Even wondering through the town of Onamia (pop. +/- 800) from time to time. We have Kathio State Park N.W. of town and a Wildlife Management Area S.E. of town both of which have bear in them. Just saying.....

I guess so but the US is so huge and Switzerland is so small that it’s surprising. I honestly don’t think there are bears in the wild in Switzerland. They probably are all in captivity.
