Just as a point (as I know this will come up a lot) I know that the true Welsh pronunciation of 'Gruffudd' is more akin to 'Griffith,' but when coming up with names, and writing/thinking about Gruffudd, the 'Gruff' part just stuck for me. Gruff. Gruff. GRUFF. It just fits him so well to me! So call it a Welsh-inspired fantasy name, rather than a pure Welsh one :) - Kim

The video times tell a story. Rhi and Tom got it all into below four minutes. Kim said a bit of pretty much everything in twice that, almost topping the world lore video. Katie will be done in less than three. And Trott will appear, wink at the camera, and the video will end.

I actually think you might be wrong here, i think Trott will have a very detailed character. How much he'll say, though, and how much is true, is questionable. But i think Katie will have the least of all to say about her chatacter. Not because its bed no! But she said one time during Aerois Q&A that she struggles coming up with the complex backgrounds. Although who knows! They had this campaign waiting in a drawer for 2 years

I'm having such a hard time pinning down everyone's classes. Like there's clearly some paladin flavor but the art suggests a druid.

I also think Kim said "rules Mark wrote up for this circle" so yeah I'm gonna guess Druid. I feel like Rhi's character is a Cleric and Tom's is gonna be a fighter.

If I recall, Mark did write up his own 5e conversion of the Warden from 4e, which is kind of a blend between Druid and Paladin...

Kim, as soon as I saw the character art and the cormorant, I knew INSTANTLY where you got the inspiration from! The cormorant fishermen from China is one of my favorite things… my first D&D character is an aarakocra inspired by cormorants, so… much much much love for Gruff already!!!! 🌊

I was intrigued by Kim's character choice when I first saw the art. Now that I've learned the level of detail and thought put into it has really lit such joy in me. I'm just in love with the way Kim incorporates her own culture into her characters. So excited for Altheya!!

Love the character concept. :) Kim always makes interesting characters with a very thought out background and Gruff is no exception (as opposed to Trott who seem to favor a simple concept and grow mostly throughout the course of the campaign). It's fascinating how this allows Mark to either build from a very well-stocked toolbox of ideas vs having an almost blank slate to fill with whatever he comes up with. Both methods seem quite fun, and both work really well based on previous campaigns. I love the look of Gruff, the guardian lion look for a leonin is amazing. Also really interesting to see someone who has kids. Not very common in DnD, and I can only imagine the "WTF?!" of having your somewhat distant/grumpy(?) dad come home with the most colorful buch of weirdos you've ever seen. Really looking forward to see how all these characters interact as well.

Got into FFXIV about over a year ago with Endwalker’s release and man it has been amazing. So seeing some concepts like high ranking knights translated to an old yet new paladin (or Druid?) is great. Super interesting to also hear about the new subclass concepts as well!

Was initially thinking Druid due to the clothing, the staff and the spectral bird, but with all the talk of knights and honour, its making me think of either Paladin or Fighter 🤔

The green knight concept sits somewhere between an Oath of the Ancients paladin, a nature domain cleric and a druid anyway, so you can make it fit either of those three classes. I suspect Mark made some homebrewing with Kim, since she mentioned the Circle tenets. :)

I like these high energy intro's you are all doing. Even though I somehow only discovered your channel part way through the second campaign, I went back to the start of the first campaign and caught up from the beginning. It's interesting to me how much you've all developed as players, as a team and as an entertainment channel. Now, between these intro's and the music score, there's clearly an added boost to professionalism as a production team. I doff my hat to you all, and am strapping myself in for yet another wild ride!

I love having a parent PC! It's kind of rare in TTRPG world and i think it's very nice. I also really love the details in Gruff's look. And once again, i say it under every character introduction video, i am blown away how long these characters had to sit in a drawer waiting for their moment. This must been feeling weird getting excited to play new characters while still playing aerois for 2 years. And now finally take them out and play.

Paladin codes can lead to some tough RP conflict but if anyone can handle it well I know its going to be the high rollers. Sentry was done very well and Kim is an amazing player.

Can I saaaayyy as a welshboi (This name has welsh-coded written on it), the letter u is pronounced the same as ih! So first reading it i pronounced it Griffedd! Soooo glad you got the double Ds making a 'th' sound though!! so many people don't get that right!

Thought it would be Trott's character at first, but after hearing Kim talk about him, he is a quintessentially Kim character. His backstory screams "paladin", but his look says "sorcerer", especially with the little spectral cormorant. Sorcerdin is a multiclass that has a lot of potential.

I thought guardian lion when I saw him first. The prominent, curly eyebrows are a dead giveaway, plus the snout/mouth being lion-like. And Kim liking to incorporte various eastern elements into her characters. If your eye catches on the curly mane and beard primarily though (and possibly the welsh-inspired name?), I can see where the sheep asociation would come from.

this character doesn't inspire me as much as the previous two but i know kim and i know she will play him to the finest detail and really bring him to life. also the first chqracter without a fixed but a ongoing goal.
