Thanks. I have always been one of the 'keep it close" guys and tend to come in steeper. I have always thought that it was silly to fly 284 miles and come up 4 feet short but the reality is that the engine is no more likely to crap out at that moment (barring my doing something stupid) than throughout the flight and I think it is time to start flying a less steep approach which I do on an LVP or ILS. Keep up the good videos. Thank you and stay safe. Ray Seligman

Great work , I agree , theres something about just knocking out a bunch of touch n gos on a flight , and the last one was great , nothing like rolling out just before you round out .. Great job , Happy New year . and yes to the podcast .!!

Quick question. What is your Airspeed on final and when do you come all the way back on the throttle when landing? Thanks and stay safe.
@grummangreaser47016 ай бұрын
on final like 80 but over the numbers 70. once i’m over the numbers i’ll bring the throttle back to idle and just walk it back

Laps? I do have a Grumman and I tend to come in considerably slower to steeper angle and plant it down a little more firmly but I must say your landings are awful pretty. So you are 80 on final on short final, maybe 200 AGL you’re coming back to 70 and over the numbers your throttle is all the way back? Flaps? Thanks for any response. I don’t think anybody should ever stop paying attention to other people who do things well. Stay safe and have a good holiday.

@@raymondseligman7003 well thank you! on final, I try and keep it between 80 and 85. But as I start to get closer to the runway environment, I slowly roll back the throttle and pitch up or down to maintain energy as needed. I aim to be over the numbers around 70 to 75. Once some 50 feet over the runway, I slowly pitch up in the airplane will set itself down applicably. I am not one for getting slow low to the ground. Especially when it’s windy. this runway is rather long as it’s 6000 feet so there’s nothing to worry about there.
