He's not THE strictest teacher he's one of them lol I went to this school and he's strict alright. Out of the camera, he would send us out of the class just for not having a pen or pencil with us (he wouldn't want us coming back) and he would just insult us for fun lol.

Mr. Hennessy is a saint. Being the best that he can be for his students demands extraordinary self-discipline, devotion, sense of purpose, and intestinal fortitude. Like many other teachers, Mr. Hennessy has to work with too many lost souls, truculent youngsters, and difficult parents. He could easily find lucrative employment in another field; however, he soldiers on with his charges. I have tremendous respect and admiration for him. Teaching is not easy.

We wonder why we get teachers like this when teachers are being put under more and more pressure. The ones who sometimes care the most are the ones who leave because they care so much but can't bear the pressure. It's the government's job to make teaching a career that's at least viable without leaving the career 5 years in due to immeasurable stress and suicidal depression.

Same, except I didn't end up in a hospital. Told my dad something was seriously wrong with me and I need therapy at the end of grade 11, but because I got As and Bs, he thought nothing must be that bad. Grade 12 I flunked everything. Went from severe anxiety and OCD to moderate depression and psychosomatic pain. Just couldn't function, pushed myself beyond my breaking point. I had some fantastic teachers though! It was just too much stress also with what was going at home.

I had that too, despite really trying so hard with maths, I got coaching from my grandfather who was good at maths, extra books, spent hours over maths homework, but my maths teacher was terrifying and violent, and as soon as I was moved after badgering my head of year to a lower maths set and a lovely helpful teacher, my maths improved. I was good at everything except maths, but he made me feel so inadequate, and said I was a slow person and stupid, and put it in my school report. I'm sorry you had that too.

can you imagine getting a phone call from a teacher and actually having a heart to heart and feel like they want to support you. I cant.. That's crazy... I had a hard time in school and I felt like I just disappointed every teacher and got called lazy and a slacker. It hurt This man has a heart and is very sweet. I was never close to any teachers nor got the support I needed

Within certain professional jobs words that mean the same can have very different outcomes and tone. Apart from the example you gave saying to a social worker for example that you want to grab you child by the neck vs you want to restrain them may mean the same thing but can be the difference in a police visit and them providing improvement strategies.

I wish a teacher cared that much about me when I didnt go in to school during year 11. I left school with no GCSE passes. No teachers cared that I hardly ever showed up. I was always around the top 2 sets in every subject but from year 9 I started to go down the wrong tracks. I slipped through the cracks because I didnt fight at school, I didnt swear at the teachers and I didnt disrupt anything. The only thing that ever happened was that my parents got threatened a few times with truant officers or whatever they called themselves. When I got my GCSE results, I got less than around 95% of my year maybe more. Yet I was always one of those who was projected to do well. Looking back, I let myself down but I was also let down by my high school. I couldnt get into any colleges to retake my gcses for the next couple of years as they wouldn't take me due to poor attendance at high school apparently. I got into work at 16 and went from dead end job to dead end job. I couldnt get into the army as I failed a medical. I'm 30 now. I'm working a job I dont like working unsociable hours for a half decent wage. My life hasnt turned out anything like I wanted it to. I wish I had a Mr Hennessy to give a shit about me in year 11.
