Only just found your channel Jim. I have just retired from the motor trade after50 years. in all that time I have never seen a workshop so well kept, equipment so pristine, and a tech so good, and knowledgeable. Keep up the good work mate.

I'm rebuilding a 1982 gs850. This is my first full motorcycle engine tear down and reassembly since I got everything vapor blasted. First off, without these videos and the Suzuki manual I would be completely lost when it came to the crankcase and transmission. Anyways, I got the crankcase halves together today and torques everything down, flipped the engine and got ready to put the head studs in when... Oops I forgot to put the new timing chain on the crank 🤦‍♂looks like its coming back apart.

Thankful you put this kind of attention on these types of work, transforming a mediocre build into an authentic work of Art. That's completely gorgeous, with just the right amount of polish to make it really standout from so many other's I've seen.

My Son was given a 1979 GS850, had not run properly for nearly 12 years. We spent every weekend for a year just to get it running and to roadworthy condition. Very time consuming but extremely rewarding. That engine looks awesome, well done Jim.

Great vid, such great work. In a business perspective, when you do the math, you are probably working at a indecently low hourly rate but I guess you love your craft so much that finally, it's not all that important. I get it, I often do the same. Have a nice week-end.

I have a 81 Suzuki Gs650 and it's developed and horrific lower end knock when under load. Idling and at certain RPMs it's not there. With these engines being roller needle bearings is it correct to assume it's a wrist pin? Maybe the pin bushings are shot? Where are you getting parts?

Currently working on a 1982 that was seized. That problem is fixed and the bike is pretty much together. I am possibly having trouble with cam timing because I have compression on 1/4 but not 2/3. I have 22 pins between the 2/3 marks on the cams with 1/4 at TDC and the 1 mark parallel with the engine surface. Can you offer any advice?
