The GSG 1911 would have been the greatest affordable 22s if that slide wasn't made of the softest metal known to man ... other that a fun little plinker

Great gun I have 3 different color variations. Thunderbolts and mini mags work great.

I was going to say, for a .22 cal that 1911 is pretty slick. I hate the .22 cal magazines though, they're basically like bb gun magazines. At the same time I guess they basically like .22 cal pellet guns, but better when it comes to cheap easy shooting plinkers.

Why did they design it to only hold 10 rounds? There looks like plenty of room down there.

Presumably gun laws. There are smaller floor plates that up the capity to ~14 that you can buy. Here in Canada, 10 is max for handguns.

@@bats8888 I’m in the states but I am surprised the 22 pistols I browsed online are mostly only 10 rd capacity in the case.

I believe it also has to do with reliability, but modern mag tech should avoid that problem

@@tiberianexcalibur I'd say the standard for 22 target pistols is the Ruger Mark series and that has been using 10 round magazines for something like 70 years and four design iterations.

There's a guy that made tons of upgrades for the gun He made floor plates and follower combos that change the same oem mag from 10 to 16 rounds He also has recoil springs and other cool things he designed He's got vids here just look up the keywords

Slide is made of cheap metal that deforms easily

The metal on the slide lock cutout is slightly deformed so it struggles with mag drops sometimes. I have also had plenty of misfires, but it could just be ammo. Not a great defensive or competition pistol, but it's good for casual range use.
