Lamar and Trevor can relate because both of them wanna me someone in Life. They hate feeling like nobodies. That's why Lamar is always trying the Families to return to the good old times and Trevor is doing random stuff: they wanna feel they are someone and worthy of value.

Not really. They are both men who are headstrong and have a "warrior" code and mentality. Notice how Lamar is always going on about his "Apache ancestry" and his work for the hood. And how Trevor is always asserting his American pride, work ethic and productivity. Simply put, they are loyal and like getting their hands dirty.

The Reason why Trevor isnt as crazy around him is that he has a crush on him lol 8:20 just like a teenager he wants to know if he means more to lamar then just friends. Also you can hear Trevor coping when talking to Franklin, he tells him that he thinks lamar loves him but that he ist just not into him. I think thats just so well thought out, that their whole relationship is based on this little detail hidden in just a few phrases of optional dialogue.

There’s a conversation in which Trevor tells Franklin that he gets the feeling that Lamar is gay, but follow up with telling Franklin that Lamar isn’t his type. So there’s something there for sure, but I’m not entirely sure what exactly
