GTM ROSSA Not Run in (2) Years

Ай бұрынMy GTM Rossa Mk2 was parked up two years ago as it had problems with a slipping clutch. It has been parked on a grass verge all that time and I needed to move it to mow the grass.
I charged up the battery and the 1275 Mini A-Series engine started straight away.
Unsurprisingly, a few of the electrics have stopped working and the interior was a bit damp. With the slipping clutch it was a bit difficult to break the brakes free and drive it off the grass.
It was dry when I went out to start the car and it was pouring rain by the time I had refitted the battery. I still need to start on restoring my 1970 GTM Coupe (but at least it is dry inside the garage.

Hi Lloyd, just been watching your holiday snaps from Holland. Looks like you had a nice time. It really rained on Wednesday - today's (Friday) video shows the torrential rain I encountered when out in the little electric Ami.

I have a GTM like this but mine needs re-commissioning and its habit of making the drivers cabin a bit too warm on a run, curing.....i need to try and solve that.

I get quite a lot of heat coming in from the central tunnel (from the water pipes and the front radiator)

That was an MG? First time seen this model?

This was a kit built car which used the engine, steering wheel and dashboard from an MG Metro. The body is a monocoque shell constructed from GRP. Classic BMC Mini front subframes and suspension are fitted at both ends.

@@DougsShed no the engine is in the engine compartiment. Then there is a (hope) firewall and then the boot. 🤷🏻♂️
