After watching it 3 times, I think my first reaction was right. Rounds 1,2, and OT - The Saurus Round 3 - Storm I could see why the crowd wanted OT and how people thought the OT was close but I still think it was a pretty clear cut decision. Still a great battle on both sides though.

Weakest judgment ever made. Johnny Storm should've been DQed twice - first for biting the Illmaculate Greece/grease line that had already been bitten at least once (Moodswangz in 06), then for the horrid "doesn't battle outside his own division" line. That's like accusing Michael Jordan of never playing in any big games. This is a black mark on the history of Grind Time.

I think they gave it to Johnny Storm because he was the underdog, and they cut him some slack becuase he was away from home, battling the champion. You gotta remember back in 2009 Saurus was still considered the greatest, and judges used to reward the opponent just for trying against him, even if they got smoked.

The Saurus dominated the OT more than any of the other rounds. As soon as JS resorted to biting the Greece/grease line (first said by Illmaculate in _2005_), he basically should've been disqualified. Absolutely ridiculous.

If The Saurus went last here I'm almost certain he would have taken it.. really sucks when this happens to someone. I've agreed with almost every decision made in the west coast division except for this one, and D-Wiggins vs Fox. Props to both though, dope ass battle.

Very good assessment. As youtube viewers, we have the privilege of watching the battle multiple times before we make our final decision. The judges, on the other hand, only have one chance to hear the battle and make an ultimate decision. I think if they watched the battle again, then perhaps, they would rule differently, but they judge based on their initial instincts.

Notice...how...Storms got the same swag as someone else we know. Pay attention to Illmac's reactions during Jonny's lines. Stands out like for real wit it. most would be shocked to know who's feeding who lines, its part of da biz. But, that was TO obvious. Much props to all the emcees that help keep this alive. it was a close battle, i think Storm talking about how they only diss other divisions n hide behind their coast was accurate cuz thats was Saurus did half his lines, jonny jus had the balls to say it first.

I gave the first two to The Saurus and Storm probably edged the 3rd. I think Saurus edged the OT though. That's just my initial gut reaction from my first watch but if Saurus got it in 3 and then took OT but didn't get the W, I call that getting robbed. Storm used a lot of punches I've already heard against Saurus. Good punches but I'd almost call it biting. They were that similar. The OT was mostly because the crowd wanted more. Storm won off the underdog effect.

2:07 Storm uses an illmac bar. You see illmac give saurus that look too. Storm used 2 of his main punches in this OT which were clearly from someone else. Kodyack vs Saurus (Hellraiser pins removed) and Illmacs bar. As dope as it was... It was still discouraging to see.

Kev E. Kev is a really good judge. i dont think i've ever disagreed with any of his decisions and i like the fact that even if everybody else goes for one guy his sticks to his guns while it seems that other judges tend to jump on bandwagons a lot quicker.

that's what I've been saying. There's nothing wrong with a close match such as this to be a draw. It just makes the potential rematch much more interesting . Nobody lost in my book

STORMS o.t verse sounded like a compilation of punchlines used against SAURUS in the past. the "hellraiser pins out of his head" line was taken from KODYACK VS THESAURUS battle the "greece" line was taken from every other rapper that saurus battled. LMAO @ 2:10 after the greece line. "never gets old"

Good observation. When battling an MC like Thesaurus, EVERY opponent has to turn it up a notch. I have a newfound respect for Jonny Storm.

It wasn't robbery. Personally, I actually think Storm won the battle within the first three rounds. Some people are so convinced that Thesaurus can never lose a battle. I am a huge fan of Thesaurus, but I think Storm came a little bit harder with his punchlines.The judges made the right decision, and they will not please everybody.

Yeah. After Thesaurus shook Storm's hand at the end of the decision, he did not look happy. I can understand that nobody should be happy after a loss.

This was the closest battle I've ever seen. The problem and question after seeing this battle is, why is winner and loser the only option? This is lyrical boxing and rarely do we see 2 contenders collide on the same level. The judges were under too much pressure and had no choice but to decide a victor, cuz truthfully they both were winners. Even the WRC team battles sometimes ended up in a draw. GrindTime should reconsider their judging options

Grind Time is an original format, unlike smack where the pre writtens are irrelevent, GT encourages its mcs to prewrite and come with their best. unlike freestyle battles where mcs can half one off day and ruin there whole battle

Every time Thesaurus loses (which is rare, btw), fans believe he was "robbed." Like I said before, people need to stop acting as if Thesaurus is incapable of losing. He is not the ONLY great MC on the battle circuit. Grind Time is filled with MCs who can give Thesaurus some problems. Thesaurus is not immune to losing. The sooner people realize this, the better.

That's a damn hard decision. I would have to give it to Saurus in OT. I had the first 3 tied up and I have to choose Pete in the end.

It's easy to see why they gave it Johnny. First of all, they were pretty even, but when Thesaurus tried to swtich up his flow, it came off as embarassing. That swung a close battle in Storm's favor.

If 2OT was a choice, would you say 2OT or did Storm actually take it in the OT.

Everybody says Thesaurus was jerked after one of his losses because some people cannot accept the fact that he is capable of losing, and that he is not the only great MC in Grind Time.

I think Storm took it in OT. I think it's another slight difference in style and what you prefer. Sometimes comedy wins out and sometimes it's aggressiveness. Was it a knock out win? No, but it's a win. My first impression is that Storm got a bit more personal, a little more aggressive.. I'll watch again and see if I still feel the same.

It wasn't the exact line but at the Spin The Mic tournament in like 2006 he said, "This guy is from Greece/ They named the whole country from whats on the sides of his cheeks" or something to that effect.

Saurus made references to storm being spanish, arabic, cuban, puerto rican, mexican, dominican republic. While he was at it he may have said chinese and german for good measure!!!!!!!

GrindTime Judges are trippin' They need to rewatch and re-listen to this battle. The Saurus is the clear winner.

I'm a Thesaurus fan, and I would have sided with him in this battle, but I have a lot of respect for Jonny Storm and I can also see why someone would vote for him here. I think that this battle should have at least gone to Double OT (if possible) but I don't think that there was a clear winner or that anyone got robbed.

TheSaurus is one of those rappers.... That it doesn't matter whether he wins or loses, he still keeps all his credibility and still is one of the best battlers in the world. Even though I may not agree with the wack ass judges sometimes....

WOW it seems like the bias in judging has spread throughout the west as well. I didn't say much for the other battles because it was less evident who won but this one was clearly Thesaurus by a mile and I'm a huge Jonny Storm fan

I really don't understand how these Grind Time judges decide who wins and loses. I like Jonny Storm and I hate on The Saurus..but come on, The Saurus was on point every single round.

2nd OT. Johnny Storm got form, very impressive. Going last is an advantage for sure. I gave it to Thesaurus 2-1 in part 1 though. Epic battle.
