for Pascal and below GPU's I heard there is a trick where you disable Async Compute on the game's registry and in doing that, you see MASSIVE performance gains. Everyone with a 10XX card should give it a go

I agree with this , Pascal cards have very rudimentary async compute (and dx12) support so disabling those features really helps the performance.

The same can be said about older AMD generations, such as Polaris and Vega. Disabling that in the registry fixes the GPU usage. This is also noticeable in RDR2 if you enable async compute, the GPU can never reach over 90%.

I was hoping the new FSR would make some visual gains. Which they kinda did. But, even at 1440p, using FSR, visually makes the game look 1080p, with some jaggies. Where as with DLSS, it is hard to tell vs native.

I have a liquid cooled 1080ti in my work computer. I'm an auto tech that gets paid by the job, not by the hour. So, any down time is game time! I have NO PROBLEM playing newer games since I'm monitor limited to 1080p. Nvidia was somehow thinking ahead when they put 11gb of Vram in this beast. I will say that it gets hotter than normal with three monitors unless you limit the power with software called Nvidia inspector. It was running around 80c at idle with the three monitors and after enabling a power saving setting, the temps went down to 40c at idle. BIG difference!

I had a 4060TI and switched back to my 1080TI. Surprisingly, the 1080TI provided better stability in games. The 8 GB of VRAM in the 4060TI completely ruined the experience. The 1080TI offers a stutter-free experience thanks to its 11 GB of VRAM. I’d rather have 50 FPS without any hiccups than 70 FPS with stutters every few seconds

The 2080 in my old laptop has problems to fully utilize it's power, too. I got 40-60 fps at 1080p with very high or 1440p high setting while the gpu only went up to 71% despite the fps was not reaching a steady 60fps, it won't fully utilize it's power no matter what combination of setting I used UNTIL I turn on amd frame generation, then it gave me 100% gpu usage with 60-75fps on aforementioned settings, I have to use amd frame generation to bring out the full power of my Nvidia gpu otherwise my gpu power is 30% off! The track record of Nvidia makes wonder if this is another attempt to crippling old gpu through driver to force an upgrade.

I just quit the ghost of tsushima now after installing and adjusting settings. On rtx 4050. I'm using very high settings at 1080p with dlss quality and frame generation. Getting stable 80~90.

7 years old gpu still delivers. If you buyed your setup back in the days, then yu mostlikely have a 1080p monitor. The game runs good enough on 1080p.

That GPU is a beast. I remember that I always dreamt about having it 😅 It's amazing that it still holds up today. Over 40 fps on very high in 1080p is really remarkable for such an old gpu.

2060super gives 50-55fps. although this is a mid-segment video card that came out a year after the 1080TI. on high settings the 1080TI has 55 fps and the 2060 is super ~70. this is a bad optimization for pascal. And it definitely can't be said that 1080TI holds up well in this game. RTX has a significant advantage in performance.

I feel like frame generation in this game does need some work because in games like remnant 2 or last of us frame gen feels so perfectly smooth without any stutter problems whereas here it feels stuttery and laggy

Interestingly, that not full GPU utilization that keeps happening in both AMD and Nvidia for you, didn't happen to me. I was quite surprised considering I'm using a 12y old CPU lol. I'm guessing that's due to the DRM Sony implemented. Can you try the cracked version as well pls?

Not bad considering the 1080ti leaves 15% of performance on the table due to the low GPU utilization. I think the users of this card might experiment with other drivers or its just about Nixxes fixing the game. If the card was utilized properly, than 1080p locked 60fps at High is a reality. Thats impressive. Very impressive.

That's not impressive, go check how the 1080 Ti does in Days Gone, a proper port. TechPowerUp says this GPU gets 69 FPS average at 1440p (native, so this means no upscaling involved) at Very High settings (which are the maximum settings and more demanding than High). GoT has great art direction but average graphics.

For FSR FG turnoff reflex and minimum cap 80 fps feels good it hates variable frames and frametimes Don't lock to 60 it's terrible

If you play a song on your whistle, weather will change according to song. Try it. Here are all animal types you can find in the game, Bear, Bees, Boar, Bull, Crabs, Deer, Dragonflies, Eagle, Fox, Frogs, Golden Songbird, Gull on the beach near Castle Kaneda, Horse and Whale so no Jack I'm afraid.

Hey, is anyone else having issue with their PC restarting while playing Ghost of Tsushima? Whenever I'm doing a random quest and while enter a building to protect a hostage, my PC restarts. There's no heating problem, and I've tried multiple games with the highest settings without any issues except in Ghost of Tsushima. Is this a problem with the game or my PC? (I'm using a GPU 2080S and i7 10700.)

dude i have gtx 1080 and 8700k i cant even get 60 with everything on low, i mix high and very high and use FSR Native AA + Frame gen only then it goes above 80+ and looks insane my CPU isnt even at 25% . GPU usage seems to be stuck around 70-80%
