I knew it was somewhere affluent / bougie / middle-class when he told Drew he got sent to sit in a hallway unsupervised after being snarky in class in high school. I grew up in Rockford, IL, with very high unemployment and high crime. They had metal detectors and security at the high schools like they were prisons. It's crazy how they started treating us poor kids like prisoners and criminals before we even graduated K-12, while rich kids were trusted and respected by authority.

You may also be familiar with essentially the same phenomenon by playing a continuously moving beat-matching game like Guitar Hero, because it gets your motion perception to adapts to the moving visual frame. Essentially getting parts of visual field to track sections of content moving one way, while others are static or moving another way, and you’ll get a good 10 seconds of melty visuals, with no drugs needed!
