Yep, I'm back to put myself through the wringer again, but with a couple of twists this time: I'm playing the GAMMA modpack for the first time, and I'm doing it as a Mercenary! Because I'm a masochist, apparently.

Oh man. You skipped right over mags redux, and dived into Grok's Body Health and Grok's Ballistics. Look, you're gonna need to keep some (by some I mean several bags) Reese Cup minis or Hershey Kisses or something similar on your desk while playing this, to stave off the suicide. It'll probably make it easier if you go ahead and accept that you will be spending most of each episode trying to fix arms and legs, only to have them immediately shot off again the first time anyone says something harsh to you. Also, in case you didn't read into Grok's Ballistics, ammo type now matters to an extreme degree when dealing with mutants and armor. Stalkers with 'for real' armor can sometimes take dozens of hits if you aren't using AP ammo, and mutants can do the same if not using HP ammo. Buckshot now also does effectively nothing to any but the most low tier bandits, and is relegated almost exclusively to dealing with mutants. There is a mod to sort of fix the buckshot issue, if needed. And, yes, that stab animation leaves a trail of glitter that will never come out of the carpet.

I demand only the finest of suffering! Funny thing is, at the rate I'm going it looks like I'm gonna be spending most episodes desperately trying to come up with jokes to fill the dead air that has been this run so far. I fully expected to get my ass kicked right out of the gate, but the only thing taking a beating is my patience. Hopefully things will pick up once I reach the Garbage and Cordon. Yep, I'm aware of the buckshot being nerfed to hell, but to be fair I mainly used shotguns as mutant repellent anyway. That said, one of the goals is to eventually use .45 Hydra-Shok rounds for mutants and ditch the shotgun altogether to make this run even more painf-I mean different... That stab animation...Someone put that out into the world on purpose. Someone put a likely unreasonable amount of time into that, looked at the finished product and unleashed it unto unsuspecting gamers. I only hope he cackled like the supervillain he is when he did it.

@@MisterKilj0y Yeah, the UMP45 is supposedly like full auto nukes for mutants in Grok's. One guy was saying that shot for shot, hydra-shoks are more damage per trigger pull than the 12 ga buckshot, which is just silly.

@@Garrumx In general people don't seem to understand what buckshot is capable of. Or shotguns themselves, though in that regard Stalker is better than most with the different ammo types.

what settings u used in this u skiped the set up screen ...

I skipped it because I didn't really change anything to start except for some keybindings. Other than that, everything was default. However later on I disable the disguise system because it was causing issues, and I cranked up the Stalker and Mutant spawns to max because it was too easy. I also upped bullet damage a bit because I was tired of random Flesh absorbing entire magazines. But yeah, nothing special at all.
