Hey man, thx for the tips, i was going with the flow picking anything that sounded fun. I was strugling in the end of act 3 but with outfank and some buffs the demons with high ac are pretty easy to hit.

for any class/character + mount I like outflank and seize the moment on both. Also Shake it off on everybody, even your backline

The biggest problem that stops me taking weapon focus is you don't know what weapons are going to be available. It is extremely frustrating when you take weapon focus on a weapon that you have only to then find a much better weapon of a different type - it effectively wastes a feat.

I agree with this and it comes with experience. Weapons that are always a good bet are - Ray ( for mages ) Kinetic Blast for Kineticists Longswords Greatsword Longbows These will never disappoint.

I would also add that glaives are great in the beginning and into mid act 3. From then if you're comfortable with waiting for weapon focus, you can change over to greatswords if you like 2 handers. Starting in act 3 you get some great longswords

Good recommendations above, but also all the crit weapons are great. Like scimitar, kukri, rapier, fauchard, etc...

You can circumvent this with the Greater magic weapon spell. Simply pick a weapon that suits your build, like a 18-20 critical threat range weapon, and use GMW to buff it for hours. I have finished the game with a +2 speed longbow on Arueshalae that I systematically buffed to +5 through the whole game, because I never found a better longbow with speed. Also, there's a sentient weapon in this game that you get very early that can take the shape of any weapon you want, allowing you to have at least one character specializing in a weapon without second thought.

I've been playing a eldritch scion undead Necro magus lately. I'm not sure how viable it is in general, but I have a hard time choosing feats because I'm torn between more melee or magic focused feats. Do you have any recommendations for feats to focus on first?

I looked into it just now so I can answer accurately - It is a very good character so let me advise some things then : - You are a Magus so focus on Melee - your touch attack will apply through melee hits. - Main Spells I recommend are Frigid Touch on Level 2 and Vampiric Touch on Spell Level 3. - Weapon Focus Feats + outflank for melee hit - Spell Focus + Spell Specialization on Necromancy and Spec on Vampiric Touch - Spell Penetration to bypass immunities! - Metamagic Feats to make Vampiric Touch useful throughout the game! These are just quick tips but it's a good start for you to think how to move on! Good luck!

@@HDHaZmY thank you! I didn't expect to get a response while playing, or one so in depth. I love the pathfinder community. The tips for focusing on melee make a ton of sense, and I'm playing a dhampir so vampiric touch is a no brainer

Can I pick the feat "outflank" for my ranger, so when my ranger crits my melee heroes with the same feat will get an attack of opportunity?

Yes, teamwork feats are especially good on mounted characters!

You didn't have improved, greater, mythic and normal vital strike? This when paired with mythic power attack and a 2 handed weapon allows you to both move and make attacks that cause the damage of 3 normal melee hits (each with that sweet +5dmg per -1 taken on power attack through mythic power attack). It helps my melee breach the gap of damage that the archers do because they can hold still and do full attacks all the time. When the bloodrager runs up and whops someone for the same damage as 4 arrow hits.

They are very good feats - I just feel they are not very beginner friendly in understanding how to use them and build characters around them. I definitely would put Vital Strike as an intermediate feat.

Isn't spell specialization just strictly worse than meta magic Heightened spells if you have the spell slots for it(which given that abundant casting is so good for casters is not a big deal, even without you usually get enough time to rest 90% of the time) Edit; except for in the early levels of course, I remember having to have specialization in Kingmaker to make it through the early game in unfair, but WotR unfair seems to be way more forgiving if you know what you're doing. I just hate taking feats that are only good for the early game
