6 ай бұрынWe take a look at the Guild 210mm Sliding Mitre Saw with Laser from Argos - 1700W This high powered 1700W Mitre Saw with laser guide is designed to enable repetitive and flawless mitre joints and accurate cross cuts in wood. The saw comes with a work piece support stand and clamp as well as a dust collection bag to enable you to get the job done quickly and efficiently with minimal mess. The tool has a soft grip handle for increased comfort in prolonged use, and is supplied with one 24 tooth, TCT blade already fitted, (210mm diameter & 30mm bore size). The tool has a sawing capacity of up to 60mm deep.
The built-in laser guide allows for increased accuracy in cuts. You can get cutting almost instantly with a max strokes per minute speed of 4800 meaning a quicker and cleaner cut. The saw has 24 teeth to power through to get the job done.

It seems like a decent mitre saw and probably does just as good a job as the bigger very expensive brands like Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee etc. I think alot of people are very snobbish when it comes to power tools, it's become abit of a status symbol like owning a fancy expensive car or owning a big house, most people who use the likes of Makita etc probably don't really need them for simple DIY tasks. Everytime I see someone cutting abit of 2x4 on their driveway with their mitre saw, it's either a Makita or a DeWalt. One bloke who lived across from me had a tool box full of mostly cordless DeWalt power tools that must've been worth about 2 grand, his sliding mitre that he had to do my fence was a Festool, and they are very expensive. Back in the 80s Black and Decker and Bosch were all the rage, but you never hear of Black and Decker anymore. I once had a Guild "mini circular saw" which, but it turned out to be just a plunge saw but was advertised as a mini circular saw at Argos, and I couldn't adjust the depth, all it would do was plunge down onto the wood and cut, and pulling down it would make the machine tilt up.

I have this saw and it is supposed to be able to make fixed height cuts...have you been able to figure it out because I can't?

It has a depth stop that you can adjust to cut to a fixed hight it's on the right and side

@RMEonline yes I read that...there is a screw and a lever...the screw does nothing and I don't understand the lever?

How do you adjust the laser position?

I'm not sure it's possible to adjust the laser position as it's always in line with the blade in which ever angle you have the blade
