Guys!! I love this show and the Pod! Kelsey, you want a toxic female character in a Kdrama (well, some may argue only at the start) you guys should watch "It's Okay to Not Be Okay". The first two episodes will have you all hooked!! p.s. Finish this one too! It's so good!

Kinda tangent here but I recommend "Love And Leashes", especially for Kelsey, since it's about consensual BDSM and even dubbed as the best one (or at leas most realistic depiction) about it. It's a movie so they can deffo finish it.

I have 3 dramas I would highly recommend : It's Okay to not be Okay. This Kdrama has a really strong girl boss as the Female Lead who writes creepy toned children's books. Each episode is kinda named after a fairy tale. Story-telling/animation is incorporated into the episodes. This is kinda a murder mystery with a huge focus on the mental health of the cast. You can actually buy physical copies of the children's books written by the Female lead character. I also highly recommend the GLORY the acting of the cast and the writing is insane. Top Tier Kdrama. I can not say more without spoilers If you guys are looking something less intense, I would recommend Twenty -Five Twenty - One. I know the synopsis does not sound interesting after years of watching Kdramas this one is in my TOP 5. The acting, chemistry of the cast, this coming of age drama was so beautifully shot/edited and beautifully written with some really funny moments. There is a reason the actresses playing the female leads of The Glory and Twenty-five Twenty-One both won Best Actresses Awards in the respective years this aired recently.

@@imbomi78452521 is SO GOOD that I didn’t even care that it took FOREVER for the leads to kiss. You could feel everything they felt for each other and how important they were to each others. The side characters also had fleshed out well written stories and personalities. You know writers don’t usually put this much effort into the side stories. This drama was perfect synergy that gets you so invested.

If we go into older dramas, I highly suggest Mr. Sunshine, Chicago Typewriter, Angry Mom, Reply 1988, Hi Bye Mama, and Hotel Del Luna (also a good Halloween one, even if the season has technically passed). If you guys are brave enough to go into Chinese dramas, I highly suggest The Untamed and You Are My Glory.

I haven't seen't it anywhere in these comments - Mystic Pop-up Bar! Comedy, tragedy, travelling into people's dreams, and an epic EPIC love story. THE YEARNING, PEOPLE. What's Wrong With Secretary Kim is also hilarious and wonderful. There is also another one called W- Two Worlds Apart about a romance between a sexy rich playboy character in a comic book, and woman who keeps on getting sucked into the comic book and changing the plot. Tres Horny.

Other kdramas to try: Home town cha cha - very wholesome Kdrama about a city girls moving to a small village The glory - a thriller mystery that isn’t as focused on romance. The main female becomes the teacher to the kids of her his bullies who did awful things to her (I would highly recommend this one bc it’s just different than others I’ve seen personally) Business proposal - your feel good rom com kdrama that’s more pg lol It’s ok to not be ok - a bit horny but it’s dark and whimsical at times Hotel del Luna - it’s supernatural and I love kdramas where there’s a magic essence involved

It was made to promote a new kpop group so the acting is a bit unpolished shall we say but its super cute and the boys in it are all in bigger shows as more accomplished actors now! I'm more of a mystery and thriller person with my favourite kdramas, so i'd suggest: 1) the glory (the acting is phenomenal and the story was riveting even when it was so difficult to sit through. I had to take a break to pace at several points, which shows how well it sucked me in more than anything, honestly) 2) beyond evil (on the one hand it's a fantastic examination of what happens to a tiny community in the wake of a tragedy folded around the all-encompassing murder mystery that haunts them decades later, and on the other it's a chance to watch a one of the greatest and most inept javerts history has ever seen) 3) business proposal (i am not usually a romcom girl, but i am 100% a fan of absolutely everything about this regardless. Mistaken identity! Silly workplace shenanigans! An absolutely ridiculous love interest, just such a dork! Nothing could be better) 4) alchemy of souls (body-swapping mages dealing with forbidden magic and falling in love, truly the easiest of sells for me) 5) my country: the new age (look, i watched nirvana in fire too many times to not be absolutely feral about this. Friendship and love forged and broken in the thrall of political royal machinations and horrible agonising betrayal. The female protagonist has a storyline that is almost entirely about her instead of her relationship with her love interest, and the two (three?) male protagonists have a storyline that is just wild in exactly the way you think it would be. Also a little bit if Korean history, sort of!)

List of kdramas you should watch 1. Vincenzo (korean Italian mafia, anti hero hero and baddie villains, but you'll need to watch it fully to give a full good review) 2. Strong girl bong soon (same heroine as doom at your service but totally different vibes) 3. Nevertheless (a controversial opinion. I didn't like it, you might) 4. Flower of evil (again a full watch but such an amazing show) 5. Mr. Queen (this one is a crazy ride) 6. Descendants of the sun (the biggest show of all times do watch it) 7. The glory (literally everyone acted so well.. You'll be shocked to see the young yeonjin act the way she did) 8. Hometown cha cha cha - you'll fall in love with the leads.. I did 9. Its okay to not be okay - its a mix... I liked it coz i understand the situation of having a sibling with special needs.. But others might not related with it as much Ofcourse i would add more if I remember, these are ones that come to my mind right off the bat

Doom at your service is such a fun and at times poignant story well worth the watch. Main leads are fantastic. The ongoing motif of Doom sticking a cigarette in his mouth and never lighting it, which I could make up some bs that "because he never lights it he never follows through on his destruction like a cigarette is a destructive yet addictive thing and he learns to move beyond that addiction" but in reality it was likely the actor not wanting to smoke... drove me nuts. Also just a friendly reminder Tak is Dong-kyung's last name. Tak Dong-kyung - korean's put their last name first when they say and write it. Dong-kyung is the full first name. Not just Dong.

I have been watching Kdramas since I was in highschool but I’ve never watched them with friends. Seeing you all three freak out when Bo Young and In Guk kiss makes me want to drag my friends and make them watch with me because it was so much fun to see. This series is a rollercoaster. It started off really good but slows down and got a little bit repetitive towards the end. However, the lead actors carried the whole way through and made up for what the writing and the story lacked. You should try short dramas. There are two to four episode Korean dramas that are really good too and would not take you long to finish.

The lore: The girl is God. She experiences humanity's pain and suffering in her human body to better empathize with humans and cuz she feels bad for them. Doom is not a God, more like a demigod. Or like the essence of doom/death/chaos. He is toxic on purpose for reasons he discloses later on. He has options for how to go about death and doom. He is in his toxic era. Because doom is a creation of God, God feels responsible for doom's current era. Plus God is bored. Tumor is someone God feels bad about and has decided to see what happens if she brings them together. She's betting that tumor will bring back doom's compassion and give him the chance to live differently. On the romance relationship piece. Yes it's toxic. But both tumor and doom are toxic dumbasses. Tumor thinks doom is hot, like duh. But she takes the deal cuz she's selfish and doesn't want to die. Doom is disappointed with humanity and his existence and wants to end it all. He obviously also thinks tumor is hot. Tumor and Doom both know what the other is up to, they don't know wtf God is up to. I got the sense that tumor wants to find a way to love doom more than anyone else so she can sacrifice him and not her family. He knows she wants that too so he is doing his best to be an asshole and difficult. She knows she has to fall for a toxic guy and find a way to look past all his BS. They both trap each other into being together. The recharging is an excuse to touch that doom came up with. The red bracelet is what keeps the pain away. Without it tumor experiences excruciating pain. The kiss is great, they kiss so rarely in these dramas and it's like edging with them. It's so good. Doom is in another kdrama on Netflix that I really liked and is so funny! Cafe name....something. lol I forgot it but it's freaking good.

shoutout to cailyn for giving the guilty pleasures fam the best kdrama suggestions🫡 - i wont deny that this show has its problems here and there but i gotta say its one of my favourite kdramas. i think if you watched the whole show you would understand the complexity of the characters better - also i think you missed some details lol especially concerning their contract and stuff, for example the red bracelet and hand holding and why they do that - its part of their contract that he takes the pain away that comes from her illness, he does that by holding her hand and they recharge every night so that she has to be holding his hand and doesnt run away

Garrick THANK YOU for shouting out Alan Wake 2!! I loved the first one and this game is everything I could’ve hoped for. The psychological levels upon levels within the story are just incredible. You’re absolutely right, it’s a goddamn sensation. 💜

I checked out Chappell Roan after Kelsey's recommendation, and she recently came out with a song called Guilty Pleasure, which is kinda neat.

i wish they mentioned that the male lead debuted as a singer on a singing competition (with a BEAUTIFUL voice) before he went into acting for fun facts

I can’t wait until the actors strike is over. It’s nice to follow along to movies that I actually know.

If you guys want to dip into kdramas one more time, I highly recommend the kdrama Memories of the Alhambra. It's part fantasy, part thriller, part romance. It's a little different from the two you have reviewed thus far.
