Just watched the movie "The Last Stand" and this tune popped up towards the end. A fitting closing tune and well done by Carlos and Jonny.

OH Yeah ! A living legend hooks up with this generations most outstanding blues artist !! The first time I put Jonny Lang on a Juke Box down in the Keys were I ran a route every body thought it was some old dude!! He,s got the voice of 50 years of bad booze,cigarettes,cigars and sloppy dames in roadhouses gettin, down with the band on looooong hot nights !! Great hook up.

I just watched a movie titled, "The Last Stand" with Arnold Schwarzenegger and other fine actors. This song came on near the end credits, and I said to myself that's, "Jonny Lang". I came downstairs to see if KZfaq had info on this and found out I was right...... Jonny is an Amazing and one of a kind musician. Love his playing and voice, there's no mistaking his style, that's for sure! Love Jonny for his talent... forever!

Written by Willie Dixon, for Howlin' Wolf. Jeff Beck covered the song on his "Truth" album. I like Santana and Jonny Lang very much. But I still like Jeff Becks version the best. (And when Mr. Dixon was asked who's version he liked best. He replied, "Jeff Beck's".) ;-)

To the person who said this song "is originally from Jeff Beck", he did play it, but it was written by Willie Dixon. Anyone interested should google "list of songs written by Willie Dixon", you'll be amazed. Thanks so much for this great upload, I heard it on The Last Stand end credits. Oh, and fuck Google for making it so I can't respond to comments.

@eldallio I live in downstete NY and I saw Jonny Lang and BB King playing together in CT at an outdoor concert. I managed to walk up to the front and was only about 30 feet from them. Wished i had my camera. But it was the first time i ever heard of Jonny Lang (he was only about 17 at the time). So I went online to his website and found out he was going to be performing at a small club in Elmira NY so I made the 4 hour drive. I got great photos and hung out and had beers with band afterwards.

Carlos did a good job on this cover. I have never heard a cover of this song done as well as Beck's, off of the Truth album. His mastery of the the Wah pedal is awesome. That old Hammond Organ Company Wah still sounds the best to me. Yea, it is a little noisy, but it has a growling sound that no other unit has been able to imitate. Remember that unit came from the late sixties. I wish I still had mine!

Well, I heard 4 or 5 songs off this album, here on KZfaq, and honestly this is the first one that was great. Jonny amazing as always ! The one that comes closer to that is While My Guitar Gently Weeps. I think that it's really well recorded and so, but the thing that makes me like it more than the rest is the simple fact that there's Yo-Yo Ma playing on it (besides of it being a Beatles song, which means it will always sound gound).

@anydamnname understood, I love srv,however,I don't care what anyone has said,it is impossible to prove who is best. I n sports we have stats,which still can't ultimately determine who is the best,because of all the different skills,but it's a bit easier than in music and art.....

@gumbyonacid A valid point Sir...as there are ppl that think Flava-Flave is THE BEST. So ill alter my statement with the afore mentioned idiots in mind. I believe SRV to have posessed the highest degree of guitar playing prowess. His brain to spinal chord to fingertip connections were unmatched. In a head cuttin riff contest i think none could have stood with him. Clapton and BB King have said as much, two ppl that have had the Best tag applied to them. And i agree w them

@anydamnname Different strokes for different folks i guess, but honestly, Santana's playing style is extremely amaeurish, simple blues pentatonic riffs, which i happen to love by the way.....not knocking carlos sanatana......i love Iommi too, but the guys in megadeth are absolutely incredible guitarists. Look up Chris Broderick and tell me then that he's amagteurish. Im assuming you dont like thrash metal, and thats cool, but you severely underestimate the talent it takes to play metal like that

I guess you think the likes of Stevie, Eric, Joe Satriani,Jeff beck etc. are all amateurish also! They've all covered this song and fall short of this version, they need a filter on here for intelligence! You cant be if you can call Santana an amateur. Either that or your 10 yrs old and dont know any better!
@anydamnname
@anydamnname 13 жыл бұрын
@dmb3305 Well no , Megadeth ARE expert power-chord bangers. The banging of power-chords is an amateurish playing style that i have no respect for. Not that ya cant slip one in here and there to give a song a lil punch, ala Tony Iommi in the early Black Sabbath. He used alot of power-chords BUT he filled in between them with fantastic riffs , runs and fleet fingered goodness. Hell any 8th grade garage band can play songs that consist of nothing but power-chords
