Mike, my dude, thanks for the shout out and doing this vid! Honestly this video is the best version I could find, but it doesn't do Hannah justice. She made Marcus bring it two nights in a row. And her band is even better now. Keep doing what you do brotha

I saw them several years ago playing in street in downtown Savannah. They were all 14-16 years old. And they started off with Communication Breakdown and just rocked from there. It was damned impressive.

Yep! I saw her an her band play at a Tiki Bar at a Holiday Inn at Hilton Head around the same time. Her Dad (I think) was running the sound and it was their drummer at the time's birthday. They were just kids and I sat there with my mouth open the whole time. Incredible. Wow.

Same here, in Orlando, we were wondering who the opening act was and then she strolls out on the stage with her band and rocked the house! We were all googling away trying to figure out how we hadn’t heard of her yet.

What Hannah has is more than finger placement. It’s her tone, attack and phrasing…

Saw her open for me us recently, she walked on stage, grabbed the guitar, and hit a massive E chord right in our faces. Then rolled into this jam. It was awesome! She played through an Orange amp with a half stack. Can’t remember which orange amp though, it was LOUD.

Michael thank you for reviewing Hannah Wicklund! I believe she is based in Nashville now and in addition to opening for the great Marcus King she will be opening for Greta Van Fleet for two weeks this coming August! She put out an album a few years ago produced by Sadler Vaden (Unit 400 band) that has some cool songs like Ghost and Crushin to name two. Be well my man.

Michael I really love your channel, and the way you are so excited about music. Been playing for a long time, and you have opened me up to a lot of music I would have never found. One day it would be great if you could go over the caged system because I never heard of it. Keep rocking and teaching.😊👍🤘

I don't play guitar but as a kid got "Are You Experienced?" when it came and every other Hendrix album, have seen ABB, SRV, and Marshal Tucker, so you get the idea. I saw this video awhile back and especially like the intro. My take is Ms. Wicklund is able to create a Gov't Mule vibe, circa late 1990s to late 2000s, before Mr. Haynes got old and changed to mostly boring ballads. She has a rare talent, especially for being a woman.
@Insolation12 жыл бұрын
She's being playing like this since she was 14. The Steppin Stones is just what they are, because the band members are always changing. The only constant is Hannah Wicklund, she writes the songs.

What is really cool is that Hannah was only in her early-20s when this was filmed - but even cooler is that she is also the songwriter. She co-wrote this with Sadler Vaden who produced the band's first album - Sadler Vaden of Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and a great guitarist in his own right. If you have time Michael, Jason and Sadler did a really cool live set on KEXP a few days ago with a great cover of REM Driver 8 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fKeYZtRhydXbmXk.html

I like how you play guitar in your reactions and try to teach :) I do really recommend you to watch "Twins In Paradise" - Vewn It is an animation in which there are only guitars and basses as instruments for its soundtrack Don't know if you wanna make a reaction about it, but even if you only see it, is ok with me :')

Hey Michael, If you haven't checked out guitarist "Tina S." video, please please react to her with us :) Everyone is calling her a guitar goddess and absolute beast on the guitar, and shes only 17! at the time of these videos. You will be blown away I am sure- as a guitar teacher. Please react to her cover of "Steve Vai- For the love of God" or "Ludwig Van Beethoven- Moonlight Sonata (3rd movement)" The videos are performed in one take, Tina is 15-17 years playing on the electric guitar. Even amazing guitarist Jason Becker heard of her and tweeted about her telling her that her playing was awesome and he was honored by it, as well as Hermin Lee did a reaction to her and was blown away saying her cover of dragonforce through the fire and flames was the best cover out there. She does covers of jason becker- "altitudes", as well as Gary Moore- The Loner, Megadeath- Tornado of Souls, Eruption-Van Halen and Dragonforce through the fire and flames &more. You can react to any of them I dont mind! They are all awesome! Please react to her if you havent yet, we would love to see your reaction and analysis as a professional guitar teacher! Thank you so much for your videos my friend! :)
