Hey Mike I've been a long time subscriber. I'm going back to this video because I want to watch a young child's reaction to Dimebag playing the solo. I just found out I'm never going to be a grandfather and my heart hurts and I need to see a child discovering new things because my heart hurts... I guess my heart is hurting because I know that I will never be able to play with a little baby again or a small child on my lap after having five kids and having lost one in a fire?.. and I also just wanted to watch Dimebag play a solo and not have to think about that horrible man who I will never say his name for the rest of my life that took his life away from him

@lonememe9674
@lonememe9674 4 жыл бұрын
Maybe they're underappreciated now, but in the 90s they were hardly anything but that. I was lucky enough to see them a few times, and it was always sold out and a half. I saw Phil play the first Pantera cover show with the Illegals at the Marquis in Denver a couple years back and it was like 50 people. We raged it for sure, and it sounded great, but yeah, a far cry from the good ol' days.

I believe what I enjoy the most out of this video is that it's a pure reaction. Not trying to simulate what is happening on the guitar or pausing very frequently. It shows how amazing and inspiring Pantera was as a band. You just couldn't stop watching the video, even though it is apparent you know the song, due to the knowledge of the breakdown. I was just as entranced as you and I love that. Musicians should always find themselves unable to admire other musicians when it is warranted and I thank you for allowing me to see that in this video. Keep it up, my friend.

There is hope for our youth. Keep introducing him to awesome music and the unbelievable energy of a amazing live performance. With the loss of the brothers, unfortunately there will never be Pantera again. But there will never be anyone like them again either. Get that kid a kit and let him start pounding the bricks man, he's a natural.

I remember when my boys were that age and we would sit around and listen to the dead. Now in their 30’s they start singing along when they hear a dead song someplace. Lol....I love that.

Reinventing the steel show in Phx Az. 2001. SCRAPED, DEATH ANGEL , STATIC X , SLAYER , AND THE MIGHTY PANTERA. OH MY GOD IT WAS BRUTAL. I walked in with my buddy. We we went down to the floor. These little goth kids were sitting against the metal barrier. Naturally I asked them to move if they didnt want to feel my size 13 boot. I was on that metal barrier the entire show. Bruised my right side from hip to armpit. I reached out and got a hand slap from dime. Two guitar picks. Most amazing show ever. Phil came out and had the lights pointed to the back crowd on the floor and said KILL EVERYTHING IN FRONT OF YOU! I WAS LIKE 240 LBS BEING PUSHED THROUGH A MEAT GRINDER TRYING TO HOLD BACK THE WAVE. OH MY GOD IT WAS AWESOME

Definitely can’t let him jump in a mosh pit at his age. But before like my he’ll be at an age where you can’t stop him. They are without a doubt the best live show I’ve ever seen. Supergroups are normally the most talented members from different bands coming together to make music. Pantera was a supergroup from the get go(as long as we ignore the 80s era). I’ve said once and I’ll keep saying it. They never wrote a song that blew. Every song on every album is totally different than the next. There is not a single band I know of that I can say that about. Some of the greatest bands out there at some point put out several bad songs and even several bad albums *cough*Metallica*cough*. It’s hard to compete against the creative genius of the Abbott brothers. RIP
