Yes, agreed! Tho I'd seen/heard Travis's song last year, sometime long after you originally posted & reacted to it, it's an equal, yet different type of 'deep soul' song as what Oliver Anthony performed here. Very appropriate to pin it on this thread, as it takes nothing away from Oliver's awesome song.

Wow. Who knew Michael was a part of the Joe Rogan, Matt Walsh dip s*it crew. So disappointing. How do you highlight great musicians/songwriters like Jason Isbell, Derek Trucks, and Tyler Childers and then sit there with a straight face and act like this guy is some great talent? Last I checked Isbell and Childers weren't singing songs about conspiracy theories and tearing down social programs like welfare. Wearing the Isbell/Prine "What've I Done To Help" shirt is the cherry on top. That shirt runs completely contrary to everything this guy and the right wing nuts are trying to sell. Or did you not actually listen to the lyrics of that song? Come on, Michael. Be better.

Wait where has he been playing? Ive listened to most of his songs, it kinda sounded like he was coming around Baltimore how u said it. If not he needs to come play. I wrote this at the begining so i didnt hear you say you share our disease, addictions. You're doing it man. Idk how you've been able to keep up a channel and teaching and a family, but phew. Going throuh actual physical withdrawal, can only understand it one way.

I was there yesterday at his performance at Morris Farm market. I was born and raised in that town, and that farm market was my first job I ever had. I’ve never felt anything like that in my town or in any musical performance I’ve ever experienced. It was more like a battle cry. People were there because they felt something in his lyrics and the way he expressed them. It was also awesome that Jamie Johnson hopped on stage and sang , seen it in color with him!

This wasn't a Reacts video, it was therapy session for the masses! I just passed nine years alcohol free. For me it happened in a moment at 33,000 feet in a airplane bathroom. I was half lit and as I looked in the mirror something came over me. I said out loud "I'm done" and I walked backed to my seat. I threw my fresh drink away the flight attendant had just put on my tray table and that was it. I walked off that plane and have never had the desire to drink again. God healed me of my alcohol problem it that moment. He can heal any of you of whatever ails you. Open your heart and let him in.

I've been there too. For so many years I was a drunk and dope head. Many times when I was drunk and puking my guts out I would promise GOD " help me get over this one and I won't do it again" lying to HIM and myself and the next weekend do it all over again. A little over 18 years ago it got to where I could just start drinking a beer , not even half a beer, and I would get so sick with my stomach churning and lit headed feeling like I was gonna pass out. At first I thought it was just my body telling me it had had enough, then I got to thinking how many times I promised GOD I wouldn't do it any more, so I said ok LORD , if that's how it's gonna be then so be it and I've not taken another drink of alcohol since. And it didn't bother me at all. JESUS took away my desire for it and I just didn't want it any more matter of fact, if I'm even around anyone else drinking, just the smell of it makes me sick. I 'm so thankful for it and have to give all the credit and glory to JESUS for taking away my desire for it. I didn't quit my drinking, HE quit my drinking .

Just keep putting your best foot forward one step at a time and eventually that bright light at the end of that tunnel of struggle will be so bright the darkness won't have any room to show it's ugly face. Be the best version of you that you know how to be and everything else will fall in place. You have the strength in you and you owe it to yourself and your family to to keep that strength to keep saying no. Sometimes you have to let friends go and that's okay you don't need those friends. God removed my obsession with Alcohol . I am grateful that He put Bill W, AA, and Celebrate Recovery into my life. I have been sober nearly 7 years. I am sorry to hear about your suffering and will pray that God responds to your prayer. My story is not unique. Johnny G told me how he came to one morning and could not get back on the couch, so like you, he knelt and prayed that God take away his desire. He showed me a new way of living --that included a lot of AA meetings and asked me to put in the work. While I dont think he originated this quote, I will never forget it. “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but I am sober today, living one day at time.”

Music and drinking began to go hand in hand for me. To sit down and write, a drink was needed. To get up in the morning, a drink was needed. I’m not a musician so I can’t explain the mechanics all I know is that this man means what he sings, he feels it and it resonates with everyone who hears his words. I don’t know him but I feel a fondness for him somehow and I really want him to succeed. He gives us all hope, however bad your life may feel, it can change for the better in an instance so I guess the moral of the story is, hang in there as you never know what’s around the corner.

Oliver seems to me to be a moderate. His music has shown to me that he sees the left and right as two sides of the same coin in the business of power. I really can’t see him using his music as anything other than a voice of the beaten down, broken, and forgotten people of the world.

@@ish474 me too. I see it too often that genuine people get caught up in what other people want by way of promising money/power/glory. The music he makes is really something special and it would be sad to see him get caught up in things that would diminish that. What other people do with his music is out of his control, but what he can control is what he does with his music.

Imagine that there is 250,000 musicians out there in the world that have an ... INCREDIBLY AMAZING ... body of work, but don't have the bug. Oliver Anthony stated that he has absolutely no cravings for fame and fortune. He never wanted to ever be a star. He loves writing songs for his friends and family. I love that we all know at least one crazy talented singer songwriter. I also respect the boundaries that some of these private savants need to keep !!! ❤‍🩹❤❤‍🩹 In the meantime, we will keep supporting all of these masterful hobbyists that usually don't even realize how great they are.

I doubt you will see this Michael Palmisano but I just want to tell you how incredibly talented you are and how much you have truly helped me with understanding music on a whole new level. Im a 47 year old woman and I was so greatly inspired by your love of music that Ive finally taken up guitar and drums, something Ive always wanted to do but thought Id never be any good at it. You have this incredible gift of painting the most beautiful picture of a song. The way you describe sounds and how they build is just magical. You dont have to be a guitar player to understand the point your making. The way you use color, textures, and feelings to descibe a song is incredible and Ive never heard anyone explain it quite like you do. 😮

it's been said "people don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it" Oliver Anthony has proven that once again. It's simple chords and simple lyrics about things we can all relate to but its true and it's raw and its real and in a world where everyone has a facade obscuring their actual lives being so vulnerable is cherished.

With every bit of me… the only way I can describe this man is that he’s (at LEAST for me) been food for my soul. Literal ‘soul food’. He has set the world on fire these last few days. Who knows where this will go. I just hope he knows, some how, how much we NEEDED his music. How much we love his music and how much we love him. He almost strikes me as a sort of ‘Tom McDonald’ phenomenon. Just without the tattoos. 😉🎼❤️ (Edit/Additional) Stunning lady. You’re a lucky man, Michael. 👍🏼
