The #1 bait to use without fail is Bonita strips. 4 to 7 inch long and 2 fingers wide.

You too Darrell! How can we stay in touch to have you out with us ??

Nice video. If you're using spinning reel, A Fin-Nor Lethal 80 spinning reel is a great choice for off shore bottom fishing. A big snapper doesn't pull the LT80's 40lbs of drag.

What size mono on your shock leeder

We use either 80lb or 100lb depending on which reel. On the spinning reel I have it's got 80lb and the conventional reels we have 100lb. Thanks for leaving the comment !!

How many miles offshore is best for big snapper
@NickeeGee2 жыл бұрын
The farther the better to be honest. I know a hot bite is in about 80 miles offshore

Hey brother, I’ll be headed down there to steinhatchee this weekend for a few days. Any decent public spots that you can send me in the right direction for some snapper?
@NickeeGee3 жыл бұрын
Hey man! For public spots, I would try Buckeye Reef which is in about 50 feet of water/30 miles offshore. I have also found a few Red Snapper out at a place called "The Crack" and also the "Super Ledge". You MAY be able to find some fish there but if you really want to get into a good Snapper bite, you may have to venture out into 70+ feet, there's just not many public spots out that far other than the Top Spot maps. I would hit up Sea Hag or one of the local bait and tackle stores to see if they have any Top Spot maps or local intel. I know for a fact the Snapper are pretty deep now, but Buckeye produces some other quality fish as well. Good luck, let me know how you do!

Ok awesome I’ll check those out for sure. How far of a run is it from 50 feet to 70 feet?
@NickeeGee3 жыл бұрын
@@ontheseaorupatree5432 it's about another 20 miles. Check out Navionics chart online and you can also find some good bottom contour a few miles southwest of buckeye. Also, if you head out about 30 miles at a bearing of 230 there is contour all along that holds really good bottom
