There is excellent chemistry here between Eric and Matt, almost as good as when Barry was alive. If I produced this channel, Chad would be making the tee shirts and Matt would provide the color commentary next to Eric.

This is a great video, thank you. I been carrying a gun for 20 years and I make myself super aware of it. An example is recently went to a movie and realized if I fully reclined the seat I’d be lazering the fuck outta the guy in front of me.... so I sat without the recline..... 100 percent safety all the time.... be safe

I'm a Navy Seal Ranger 8 for the FBI and can say that if you really want my credentials, i can tell you that i can hit a target the size of a quarter from about 7 miles away using a 9mm Glock long rifle while upside down.

Great video I like your approach the subject. I'd love to see Matt back on gun gripes in the future. I myself was a forward Observer in the United States Army for eight and a half years and spent a healthy amount of time in Iraq LOL so I love seeing other combat veterans being able to get out there share their knowledge and their expertise.

I'm by no means an expert. Something I have noticed, just in general, I think the most important thing to do once you get your first firearm is to learn trigger discipline. It seems to be the one thing every firearm, no matter when it was made or how much it costs, they all benefit greatly from trigger discipline. What are your thoughts? Some might say muzzle control, but I still say trigger discipline is more important. If you have total control over where your finger resides and when to actually engage the trigger, you can actually safely flag others with the muzzle. Soldiers do it all the time in combat ops, and in the civilian theater, you may end up flagging people in a self defense scenario before getting on target. Training to touch the trigger only when you wish to destroy seems to be the best thing you can learn for shooting. Thoughts?

I'm 58 yrs old, grew up shooting firearms and have continued shooting all my life. I learned to reload and some minor gunsmithing. The big thing is I'm still learning today and this is one of the channels I frequent to do so. I haven't agreed 100% with Eric and the gang on everything but that's just part of being a human and forming your own opinion. Paul Harrell is a good channel to check out as is Hickok45, both teachers but in two different ways. I haven't checked out John Lovell but am about to do so. I'm still learning.

I enjoy this channel, as well as several others. When making a purchase , observe several different reviews with live demonstrations . Then you may find the right firearm for your specific need. Keep up the good work!

I'm no expert but I LOVE having a few non shooters or even a gun grabber or two out to the farm for a little powder burning session... Most if not all found that they also enjoyed burning a little powder :-) They tell me that they are "scared" of guns, but a short 5 minute safety lecture later, they find that the weapon rarely jumps off the table and randomly kills someone!!! Shooting is safe, enlightening, teaches you patience, and, most of all... FUN!!! The young female college students my daughter brought home one weekend were a whoot!!! All were scared of guns, but by the end of the day they were all outshooting me!!! (Did I mention that I was no expert???) If we could all humble ourselves and invite a gun grabber to the range instead of screaming back and forth, I think we could change a few minds and have some fun while we were at it :-) God Bless you gentlemen, and Merry Christmas :-)

You make a great point about ranges having rentals. Honestly that's how I'm trying to decide between 3 different pistols right now. The list was 7, but didnt like the feel of them while firing or one little thing over another.

By the way, I really like Chad’s idea (suggestion) on holding ones bump in the night flashlight high and outside... displacing my being a target at a loss of some stability; that after watching the Warrior Poet team up with Mr Gunsandgear most excellently teaching flashlight use in home defense- that’s why I have 500 Or 1000+ lumens of psychologically disruptive light in one hand. Thank you all for what you do for helping me judge a right path out of my experimental ignorance (lack of real world experience).

I like watching Paul‘s Videos. I watch the videos even if the Firearm or Caliber is relevant to me. He’s a wealth of knowledge, and it’s good to have „some“ knowledge everything and anything in case you have to use it.

One of the reasons I trust Paul Harrel and John Lovell is that they often remind thier viewers that thier opinion is just theirs and someone else with different experiences and priorities can have a different but still perfectly valid opinion.

Black powder reloading has some very special rules to follow. I have seen some scary KZfaq loading videos on this. I have learned a lot from KZfaq and Facebook. Some great but some scary.

I’m glad you made this video. My biggest pet peeve is all the liars in the comment section. For instance Garand Thumb just released a video on the HK MP7 and all these people were claiming they have run that platform. I’d be hard pressed to say 1% of the US population has shot that weapon. . .And apparently all of them are watching KZfaq videos about it

Shoot iv8888 taught me everything I know lol. Like seriously I’ve always had hunting guns and 3 years ago my buddy brought his ar15 over to shoot. Well I got to looking around and didn’t have money to buy one and I came across a iv888 video talking about building your own. Clicked that sub button and the rest is history. I’ve since built myself several 223/5.56 ar’s 9mm ar pistol 6.5 Grendel 7.62x39 a pistol and rifle 300blkout even a g17 poly 80 not to mention the 10-15+ rifles I’ve helped and built for friends and ppl at work. That’s why this whole KZfaq gun content ban is such bull. If it weren’t for you guys and other youtubers I can say for a fact there would be at least 15 ppl out there that I know that would have never even gotten into ar’s or guns in general. I know y’all are more less talking about training in this video but I’m just talking about gun knowledge in general. Just want to let y’all know you are making a difference in the 2a community and hopefully KZfaq won’t eventually shut us completely down because it’s the most popular platform and a better chance of a non 2a just scrolling around on KZfaq and come across a random gun vid that peaks their interest. Patreon is great for the guys that are already here it’s a great way for us to give back to y’all but the chances of that same non 2a person stumbling upon patreon like they would KZfaq is slim to non. Anyways I’m way off on another track but just felt I needed to let that out lol. Keep it up

I’m no expert at all, but the things I know through experience, I know. And I can discuss the subject. From having a rifle in my hand at a very young age to the Marine Corps and the police department, I have some knowledge. But the things I don’t know about I won’t discuss and will go into learning mode when listening to someone. We all can learn if we can listen humbly and be open-minded.

Dear God have your seem all the shit hanging off of Lovells g19x? He says some things he doesn't practice in some cases. I like john but he's not the God a lot of people try to make him out to be. I like how hes honestly trying to make people better, but he's also a bit too tactically oriented for the everyday Joe. I don't need to know about nvd's and battle belts and helmet setups and plate rigs so a lot of his stuff is useless to me and to the every day Joe.

I definitely agree that a lot of his material isn't always geared towards the every day person, but there's certainly some good nuggets of information in his content.
