Some argue about who portrays Spiderman best; Macquire, Garfield, or Holland. My answer is that Macquire best represted the geeky Peter Parker while his Spiderman was questionable. Garfield was too cool for Peter Parker, but his portral of the smartmouthed Spidey was perfect. Holland on the otherhand, in my humble opinion, portrayed both roles admirably.

I hear this all the time but I don’t think it holds any water, not in a mean way. I just personally don’t think there’s such a thing as Andrew being “too cool” for Peter Parker. Watch the 90s animated series which is held in pretty high regard by fans. He’s “cool” in that show too. Takes Felicia Hardy on a date in the second episode and is flirting with Mary Jane the very next episode. He’s not a dweeb but he’s still Pete. Garfield wasn’t a total loser but he had a self inflicted social awkwardness to him that would explain why he’s not more popular despite being “cool”.
@wal63774 ай бұрын
@@iwatchmovies2much I never saw the 90's animated series. I saw the 80's animated series and while I've never read the comic books, I took it that Flash Thompson was a canon high school nemesis of Peter's. In Toby's first spider flick, Flash was the the physically intimidating bully, while Tom's Flash was more the verbally intimidating bully. Maybe I'm wrong or missed it but Andrew's Peter seemed to get along with his high school classmates and was accepted by his peers. He didn't seem to have the socially awkward feeling that geeks in high school either have to learn to get passed, or never do. He seemed too confident (too cool) and thus didn't capture that persona of Peter Parker. I'm not saying the actor couldn't act the part, I just think they didn't write the part from that perspective.
@Quonton113 ай бұрын
@@wal6377I’m not as familiar with the comics as I wish I was, however, I have seen multiple people mention that later on, Not sure if it’s later into college, but Peter does end up gaining Flash’s respect and eventually flash and Peter actually become great friends. Someone can correct me if that’s wrong, it’s just what I’ve seen others mention. Also, Peter in the comics was never just an average looking, nerdy outcast like Tobeys Pete. He was smart and incredibly attractive , but really socially awkward, which Andrew’s take really embodies. On another note to comic accuracy, there are so many versions of comic Peter Parker and spider man, that you can find any comic issue that the three live action versions fit into.

Some fun facts 1. The humorously hateful news boss J. Jonah Jameson one of the most iconic characters in Spider-Man's mythos was never mentioned in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012). In this sequel he is spoken of frequently but never appears. The producers claimed they could not find an actor to measure up to J.K. Simmons' legendary portrayal of this character in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films. Stan Lee the writer who came up with the idea for these characters and makes cameo appearances in all the films has often said he would volunteer to play Jameson if he (Lee) were 30 or 40 years younger. Ironically when casting Spider-Man Far from Home (2019) they could still think of no one better than Simmons so he resumed his role as Jameson. 2. Emma Stone actually wrote the graduation speech 3. Shailene Woodley was cast as Mary Jane Watson and even filmed scenes. But her role was cut from the film because the filmmakers felt there were too many characters and wanted to streamline the series. 4. The dog that Gwen walks while Peter spies on her from a rooftop was adopted by Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone in 2013. 5. This is the first "Spider-Man" film to be filmed entirely in New York State and the largest film production ever in New York City. 6. Early on in the film Max Dillon has a birthday cake in his fridge that is white with green icing and yellow lightning bolts. This is an homage to the original Electro suit from the comics. 7. When the reporter is interviewing two bystanders after Spider-Man's first battle with Electro, they speculate that Spider-Man defeated him by wearing a rubber/neoprene suit which is how Spider-Man first defeated Electro in the comic book. 8. When this Sony (Columbia) film was shown in theaters a mid-credits teaser for Fox's X-Men Days of Future Past (2014) produced by 20th Century Fox was included. Director Marc Webb violated a contract with Fox to make a film for them after The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) in order to return to Sony for this franchise thus Sony had to agree to promote Fox's X-Men movie for free. The scene, which was not included in the video release is unusual for a mid-credits teaser in that it is actual footage from the film it is promoting (the scene in Vietnam with Stryker/Mystique). 9. Chris Cooper was considered to play Doctor Octopus in Spider-Man 2 (2004). 10. When Harry accesses his father's archive you can see the file names Ravencroft, Dr. Connors, Dr. Morbius, and Venom Storage 7U. Ravencroft is the asylum seen later in this film Dr. Curt Connors is the Lizard from The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Dr. Michael Morbius is a Spider-Man villain with vampire-like attributes and Venom is Spider-man's demented lookalike whose story was filmed in Spider-Man 3 (2007). All these villains were intended to join the "Sinister Six" organization in the ultimately-cancelled third installment of this reboot. 11. In the film Peter remarks what J. Jonah Jameson pays him is fair...for 1961. That was the year before Amazing Fantasy #15 (the comic issue that first introduced Spider-Man) was released. 12. When Peter offers to accompany Gwen to England he says he might catch Jack the Ripper. This was the premise of a story written for the never-produced 6th season of the Spider-Man the Animated Series (1994) cartoon. 13. Jamie Foxx is the first African-American to play a villain in the Spider-Man films. 14. According to the actors the original Green Goblin vs. Spider-Man fight was longer and more violent but had to be cut in order to keep the PG-13 rating. Things that were cut include a scene where the Goblin is conscious when Gwen dies and laughs at Peter as he cries over Gwen's body then Peter almost beats the Goblin to death after Gwen is killed. 15. Jane Levy and Kristen Stewart were both considered for the role of Mary Jane before the character was dropped from the story. 16. When Spider-Man ties Gwen's hand to the cop car hood with a web and swings away Gwen yells "Peter!" after him and covers her mouth with her hand. This was a genuine mistake by Emma Stone who was supposed to say "Spider-Man" instead of "Peter" and covering her mouth at the mistake was the genuine reaction of the actress not the character. Director Marc Webb called it a happy accident and left it in because it was so well performed that it did not break character. 17. Several scenes involving Dane DeHaan were cut due to the disturbing and intense nature of the scenes. These include Harry drinking and speeding while the girl he is on a date with begs him to slow down. Several scenes in which Felicia and Harry bond and romantic feelings between the two are implied. An extended version of Harry's transformation into the Green Goblin including his teeth growing and shattering and his nails growing into claws. The Green Goblin showing himself to Felicia who is in the building during the transformation and sparing her life. In this scene the Goblin kills Menken and proceeds to destroy the Oscorp building. The Goblin cutting the web that Gwen is holding on to which leads to her death. Alternate versions of Gwen's death also included the Goblin fatally stabbing her and breaking her neck with his bare hands. 18. Among the film's deleted scenes there is one where Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) shows Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) proof that Norman Osborn was keeping Peter under surveillance in case Peter's missing father would ever try to contact his son. There is another deleted scene called 'Peter Meets His Father' where Peter while mourning for Gwen at her grave is visited by a still-alive Richard Parker he explains that he managed to survive by parachuting out of the crashing plane and that he couldn't reach out to Peter while Osborn was still alive because he kept close watch on young Peter. For the scene Garfield refused to rehearse beforehand or even see/speak to Campbell Scott in order to generate a genuine emotional response when they first lay eyes on each other. 19. At around 2h 5 mins Shailene Woodley who filmed scenes as Mary Jane Watson before this character was cut from the film can be seen briefly near the film's climax. She can be seen from behind during a shot inside a café just as Rhino prepares his attack and after Peter's listened to Gwen's graduation speech. 20. Marc Webb originally was going to change the ending and let Gwen live but had to give credit to Stan Lee and directly followed Gwen's death scene. This particular scene became very hard for Andrew Garfield to watch because according to him "it felt so real it hurt me to watch someone I love so dearly die!" 21. Harry Osborn is actually never called Green Goblin. Max Dillon calls himself Electro after the Times Square scene and Aleksei Sytsevich isn't called Rhino until the end of the film where he calls himself "The Rhino". 22. During the final battle with at the Oscorp power plant after being knocked down by Electro as Spider-Man looks behind him to his left-directly at a Spider-Man logo painted on the wall. This is seen in at least one other occasion during the scene.

There are two things I like to say about the ending There was an alternative scene where Harry/Goblin personally kills Gwen and threw her down the shaft. Spiderman tried to save her but was to late. In a rage, Spiderman beats the s**t out of Harry/Goblin even came close to kill him but stop at the last minute because he realizes he doesn't kill. The reason they changed the scene because they felt it was to violent for kids but they are pictures of scene. Harry's plan was to form the sinister six, a group of six supervillains to kill Spiderman. The mysterious man walk past several objects at the end, the four tentacles and a pair of birdlike wings hinting that both Dr Ock and Vulture would be a part of the team. I always did figure that Electro wasn't dead he would come back some how and became part of the team and I figured that Connors aka Lizard would also be part of the team. That what the third movie would been about.

He didn't repeat his mistakes and it was sort of a redemption for him

Electro was returned to where he died and the Lizard too. Maybe when DrStrange returned him, his mind focused on saving Gwen and maybe with Electro's return point in time Electro should had returned cured. Should Peter be returned when Captain Stacy was dying, could he had used the Lizard's transformation serum to at least be healed from his injuries and then cure him later with the same serum that was used in No Way Home to cure Captain Stacy? If Peter returns around the same time as Electro, he'll make sure that Gwen doesn't die from her fall.

Andrews world is the only spider world that actually talks about his parents, you don't get that from Tobey's or Tom's world

The saddest story is Andrew Garfield was Emma Stone's real boyfriend.. He want to marry with her.. She didnt want to marry somebody and broke up with him for this.. After a few years, Emma Stone married a stranger... He loved her so much in real life.. He didnt handle this situation and he cried so much.. Andrew Garfield.. He became her friend after all that happened.. That last scene was so sad because as a metaphor that was true.. Andrew couldn't hold the Emma Stone in real life and he mourned and cried about it.. That last death scene was a symbolism of their real life relationship..

I can't find any info on the "marriage" idea, but they were a serious couple, and they still have love for each other. As far as I can tell, your comment is mostly accurate.

7:33 or maybe if you use your brain and think back to the first movie you would recognize who that guy is book that requires you to use your brain and I don't want you to hurt yourself

This had so much potential to be one of the great films for Spider-man but the studio ruined it, Garfield and Stone are unreal on the screen together and makes Gwen's death so impactful cause she has to die for him to be who he is the lessons she teaches him, wish we got a 3rd TASM movie to finish it off

People shouldn't blame Marc Webb for the failure of this franchise They should blame AVI ARAD for stuffing so many characters for the sake of toys sales
