Not a typo haha, seems someone was a little too heavy on the brakes so 2857 comes to a sliding halt in the Bewdley MPD. Taken on the Sunday afternon. Enjoy and comment

Track on the MPD is a bit slippy as it's often got the remains of oil and grease on it from the loco prep.

I did that very same slide with Mircosoft Train Simulator! It was with this very engine, too!

Deja Vu! I just been in this place before! Higher on the street!

Better keep you away from steam engines then or you might just wreck them then.

I've seen this happen to a fully loaded passenger train and it went sliding through the station.

I've known crew be suspended for that, he's going way too fast. Similar thing happened on the SDR recently, unfortunately there were 2 locos in the way on that occasion, it stopped him and also resulted in severe damage to the front end of their 55XX!

Quite right. There’s no excuse for bad driving. When you’re entrusted with one of the few remaining steam locos in steam, it is your duty to operate it with care and frankly the driver should be sacked for that display of stupidness. Lucky no one and nothing was hurt, but still it’s not the way to drive a locomotive.

@@chriswilson2431 sacked...English person you are indeed....Sao I assume this driver ,drives these steam engines every day with the same track conditions , and same fuel rating of heat output , a d oh , do all the valves operate just 100%all the time , every day .....sack him I say ...yeah happy contented social aware Englishman...... maybe that'driver has a family to feed etc...sack him ..... happy Englishman.......

see its not just motor cars that have faulty A.B.S. braking systems???????

Not good, not proffesional and could have put a brand new engine out of use. As for a SPAD there are no signals on shed, just people in pits and around other engines. Mind you its a frightening experience.

Could have been worse though as we could have had some idiot like Richard Harnetty driving.
