@Mandi Benson I actually thought we were the same age and I’m 5 years older! I don’t know why Vogue even put this up. For clicks?!! Shame on them! And yes agree with a simple skin care regimen with just what you need. These celebrities are touting the “more is more” school of skin care. And her misplaced ingredient fear-mongering. So irresponsible! I used to like her and she’s just gone cuckoo!

How is this a toxic routine ? This is a mature woman that has never had any plastic surgery, nor any cosmetic procedure (no fillers, no botox). This woman embraces her age, her journey. She is showing us that in this day and age of filters, it is okay to embrace wrinkles, sun spots, and thinner lips that have lost their collagen over the years. This routine is a statement of self acceptance. She is also talking about her family life, about her kids, her husband, she is embracing simplicity, a slow pace of life. She talks about her business, a female owned business. She even points us to a website where we can check for our skincare products safety (ewg skindeep) so we can have agency over our beauty and health, if that is not sharing and caring i don't know what is. Please tell me what was toxic about this video other than your comment that, i'm sure, you mindlessly posted only because you saw other people bashing this poor woman. This is sad...

I am her age and have worn daily sunscreen on my face since 1989. It has made a big difference, I don't have the blotchiness or the the superficial wrinkling she has. I don't actually think she looks that bad right now, but as we get even older, gravity takes over and our bodies stop producing as much collagen. The sun damage just compounds all of that, making the skin even more fragile. Not to mention the risk of melanoma, which is deadly when it metastasizes. Being that Gwyneth is rich, she can have all kinds of treatments and surgery to her skin as she ages. For the rest of us, prevention will save money and heartache in the end.

@@joelfernandez354 You can exfoliate anytime you want. I am fairly sure that the skincare police are not going to bust down your bathroom door if your routine has you doing it in the am. While I use most of my chemical exfoliators at night, I often will always use a glycolic or lactic acid toner or essence in the am. As well as, if I do decide to do some physical exfoliating, it is almost always in the am. And I do physical maybe once ever week or two depending on how my skin is feeling. Of course I bath in sunscreen regardless. She must be paying off the skincare cops. Nothing else explaines why they didn't kick in her door while filming this video. Or maybe Vogue paid them off. Lol

I’m a chemist. She has no idea what she’s talking about in her reference to ethylene or propylene glycol (in “anti-freeze”). It is a cosmetic stabilizer and helps skin maintain hydration, not some scary harmful chemical. It is also, brace yourself, a FOOD additive. Yep. It is edible. It is safer than what is in the hair product she put on to lift and lighten her hair. Goop products are over-priced and under effective. She looks really old to me. The inappropriate use of sunscreen explains the skin. Her dry skin would be helped by using something that contains ethylene glycol. People who profit off of fear mongering and science illiteracy make me ill. Shame on her and shame on Vogue for giving her a platform. Exfoliating with a physical scrub daily is a big part of that dry/dehydrated skin. Over exfoliation will damage your barrier, cause tewl, and actually promote aging. So the reason why the “antifreeze” comment is incredibly misleading is because, she is referring to a compound called: propylene glycol, which is very commonly found in beauty products and is completely safe. Ethylene glycol is what is found in antifreeze solutions and is a very different chemical. It’s like mixing up Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide, two very different chemicals with one common link (Carbon).

@@Theminerboydiamonds and that excuses sharing false information on such a large platform? How should that make them hold any less accountability? A large amount of the population doesn't eat and exercise right, so that means a large platform that has that as their focus and has a lot of influence, can share false and harmful information. Part of the information shared can cause cancer if done the way they show in the video, as well as used fear mongering tactics (like the antifreeze statement) to push for certain products even though it's all false. According to your statement, that's what you're saying is acceptable. No thanks.

This is insane, and I don’t understand why you give her a platform. I’m disappointed, vogue. There’s no such thing as "clean" skincare and "toxins" (it’s about dosage, literally anything can kill you at the right dosage. Even water, which is a chemical). It’s all fear mongering. SPF is SO SO SO IMPORTANT. Skin cancer is all I need to say. Also her lack of spf shows especially on her chest. Spf is the most important step in your skincare and it’s important to use it everywhere and to use enough of it. Number one anti-aging ingredient, helps prevent wrinkles, pigmentation etc.

Absolutely agree! You can skip all of the expensive serums of this world and only use sunscreen and a simple , fragrance free, inexpensive moisturiser that you can get in a supermarket while grocery shopping and you are all set! People these days are too fixated on ‘clean, organic, natural’ you name it skin care and forget about the basics while ‘natural’ ingredients don’t necessarily can be good for you, all this brain washing advertising that we are surrounded by should stop at last.

For chemical sunscreens vs mineral sunscreens, the chemicals in typical sunscreens is very damaging to the ocean and reefs, that’s why people advocate for mineral sunscreen vs chemical. BUT chemical sunscreens aren’t as harmful as ppl make it on the skin, it’s just it’s moreso harmful to the planet! Hope this helps! Edit: wanted to add that mineral sunscreen is more suitable for people with acne prone, sensitive skin chemical sunscreens seep into the skin along with its chemicals which can cause irritation. Mineral sunscreen sits on top of your skin while chemical sunscreen seeps into it. Always do your research when picking which sunscreen better suits you

@@riom.6091 not sure where you assumed I included the ingredient zinc oxide which mineral sunscreens typically use NON NANO zinc oxide. For someone whom just used misinformation to assume misinformation... take it up to the ceo’s of usda certified organic companies whom produce mineral sunscreens if you’re so skeptical 😂 Also, mineral/physical sunscreens are more suitable for acne prone + sensitive skin because it sits on top of your skin and doesn’t get absorbed into the skin unlike chemical ones, that I had mentioned. @@MsLiannne stop spreading misinformation. The thing about coral reefs is still not officially proven by scientists. You should look it up. The amount of damage is so little that it is almost zero. It will literally take millions of years worth of sunscreen to actually do some real damage to the coral reefs.
