Just came across you nice folks and enjoyed this episode with our brother Alfie. I wanted to highlight that as Muslims, we believe that any baby is born upon (Fitra) which is the original disposition of being a Muslim then takes the religion of their parents. Therefore, we don't say converted to Islam instead we say reverted. Hope this makes sense and thank you for your efforts 👌

You will often hear “revert” over convert because we believe that everyone is born Muslim (which simply means one that submits to God) and then they are “converted” by their parents if they become anything else (Christian, Hindu, etc.) So when they come back to Islam, they are reverting back to their natural state.

In Islam, every baby is born sinless, no matter their parents religion. Babies are born with the nature to worship true God, not the nature to commit sins However, I prefer to use the term "convert" instead of revert. Because not all people understand the concept of revert.

When a person comes into Islam, we usually use the word "reverted" with the context that you come back (revert back to) to a natural state of belief. In Islam we believe every child is born sinless, with a natural inclination of a higher power (belief in God alone, no partners) before parents and society etc teaches them something else pushing them away from this easy and very natural belief. We believe everyone is born a Muslim (pure), in fact the word 'Muslim' simply means "a person who submits to thee creator". Islam is truly one of things that you just have to read up for yourself and not listen to people and the news and you'll see what this intelligent and well spoken young man has realised for himself as well as many others. I invite everyone to read the Quran, you have nothing to lose but so much to gain, read it, critique it and ask questions there is nothing to hide or anything to be scared about. Any way this was a great interview really enjoyed it, keep up the great work guys!

This is one reason muslim women wear hijab. Muslim ppl believe it is protection for society/woman. As they cover their beauty it makes it more important for them to develop their personality, morals and intellect, to be defined by. This makes them pleasant to talk to and hold real conversations around shared values, beliefs and long-term life goals that are also deep and transcend in nature. It prevents ppl getting arrogant and getting a superiority complex based on superficial trates. Keeps ppl down to earth, modesty. Trys to prevent self entitlement and Princess complex. It trys to prevent the commercialisation/weaponising of "beauty", by it not being a publicly displayed and traded commodity/currency. Trys to give women a break from having to compete with each other on just beauty, in open public. That can cause feelings of jealousy. Helps to try to prevent an army of simps and street pestering. As her beauty is for HER and the special people SHE chooses in her life. Helps to try to prevent insecurities trying to maintain unrealistic and unsustainable beauty standards, that are forever changing and expensive to uphold. This can cause mental issues in people and the sense of constant judgement and body shaming from people that don't know you or care about your long-term good. Peace

Converted to Islam not Muslim. Also, the reason why Muslims call this a reversion instead of conversion is because we believe that every human when born is a Muslim, their parents and environment later change that human e.g in his case he was raised as a Christian. Therefore, when someone takes the shahada, they become a Muslim AGAIN
