映画「オペラ座の怪人」よりThe Point of No Return / All I Ask of Youです。
パリ、オペラ座を舞台に類まれな美声を持つ可憐なソプラノ歌手クリスティーヌと幼馴染の公爵ラウル、そしてオペラ座の地下に住む怪人ファントムが織りなす悲しい恋物語。
この曲は劇中劇「ドンファンの勝利」のクライマックスを飾るデュエットです。
色男ドンファン（ファントム）と“生贄の子羊“である少女（クリスティーヌ）が最後の一線を越える覚悟を歌う、とても緊迫感のある曲ですが、最後に歌われるAll I Ask of Youはファントム自身の心からの思いを繊細に歌われ、そのギャップに心掴まれます。
また、このAll I Ask of Youは前半にクリスティーヌとラウルが愛を確かめ合うデュエットとして歌われており、それがまた切なさを増します。

中学生の時、初めて見た舞台が劇団四季のオペラ座の怪人でしたもう約10年近く前ですが、衝撃すぎて今でも思い出しますその後、数は多くないですが様々な舞台を観覧したものの、オペラ座の怪人を超える舞台はなかったです大人になってお金も稼げるようになったので、もう一度観に行こうかな

it’s kinda crazy that he’s only an actor, but he can sing decently well but i’m my opinion, i don’t really enjoy listening to GB as phantom, i prefer RK! but yes GB is talented

Gerard Butler is one of the best PotO actors (But not like Lon Chaney) but he just has his acting get in the way of his singing. He isn't a bad singer but he yells too much when it requires him to make a note worth it. To me Ramin Karimloo has the best singing. When I heard him, his voice pierced my whole being.
