Stop thinking about the world like it's like d&d character creation. People don't act like that, people change, it's what we do, who says a person that is nice to other people and is lawful isn't actually a menace behind closed doors or vice versa. People sour, or they mellow out through time and that's seen in their actions, not imaginary rpg personality maps lol I've been lawful and illegal, evil and good so have you probably, is it that easy for you to put yourself in a quadrant? 🤔

Did want to add that from what I read online, that conference wasn't a chance meeting of "i just happened to run in to that guy at some random place in the world" and more of a "we didn't have this guy on our list yet, but based on what we gathered so far, this conference made sense to attend for more intel and achieving sub-goals for our investigation."

I launched a company in October, we have almost no money, the company is literally just me, but over the past month I've been relentlessly attacked by phishing scams and this one odd overpayment scam, and i've been getting a crazy number of calls and hangups for "wrong numbers." i just dont get how I can be worth all this time. Its blowing my mind right now. I want to kick these people in the fcking groin.

It's sounds like they're getting practice. You might not be worth the time yourself. There's more plausible deniability in a case like yours where they can rely on police (or anyone else you tell) to resist the suggestion that you're being targeted because your financial situation makes it seem like you wouldn't be worth the time and effort. Someone was getting their feet wet. Or you found yourself on the bad side of someone who has an organization like that at their fingertips and it's what they're using to frustrate you.

Run their email as if its a url address-view source on what you get-use a “common hash” macro to find the similarities-keep in mind most people Dont Understand how hashed metadata works- this will allow you to see any similar hashing and if you look up how to break down hashkeys you may be able to see because of this how many people are actually attacking you and from there especially if you read the instructions you should be able to see whether they are actually the company or person that they are claiming to be or if they are hiding behind another party which is common for them-I have been researching this and collecting data for the last three years and have unfortunately had interactions with this group over the last 10 years since 2012-it is complex and more often than not going to lead people to the wrong parties in regards to who is responsible-airport I am putting together as extensive and has required huge amount of patience on my part and dealing with these people in order to collect this data-there is very little that you were able to do as their ability goes beyond simply remote and they will put in the effort to set up hard to spot mesh structures to capture what they want from your physical location as well Jack is right this goes right up the chain of government and it is indeed in my opinion the largest and most complicated group of unethical hacking parties I have ever seen Sorry for any typos I’m using voice to text as I have thrown all care to the wind in exchange for vast amount of data lol

Try signing up for DeleteMe. I am no one but i've had a similar problem for years. I paid for 3 years of DeleteMe and while I still get normal telemarketing calls, the phishing attempts have calmed. Hope you have your LLC totally separate from your personal details when possible. You gotta do some preventive measures.

Motivations are not financial?? The motivations of the hirers (Exxon, Wirecard et al) are purely financial - and the hackers offer a service which no doubt get paid handsomely for......its less overtly criminal as a ramsomware hack but aims aren't much different for all parties.

I mean mercenaries are always going to be out there especially when developer gigs are so underappreciated and underpaid I still think it’s quite unusual that to date there’s been no mention of some of the more specific detailing in regards to any of this I admire a lot of your ethics in regards to so much of this technology and your angle when interviewing people I certainly can’t claim that I’ve been an angel over the years I will say that there are those that how do you said do work within an ethical framework and then there are those that seem to be a bit carried away like these people I mentioned in a comment as a response further down how long I’ve been embroiled in the constructive research of these people and to be fair lines to get gray After the last three years I have trouble still believing that without a solid understanding of the whole picture any of these groups are knowledgeable or capable of doing anything about these people I mean I have 10 years of understanding and three years of data and even with that I find myself overwhelmed and unsure where to begin and comprising a cohesive report Especially because so much of this not only stems from here in our own country but is being carefully hidden behind other parties that are often put into jail and do not belong there and because of all the data seeming to belong to them are in capable of fighting back Also to be fair the dark web does have a lot of very complicated constructs people and circumstances where it can sometimes become difficult for authorities or people in a position of legal authority to act in a way that is constructively useful or in a way that has any understanding of that gray area where in so many people hiding on there are truly doing no harm at most are perhaps technological freedom fighters while others are hiding behind the mask of red hats or freedom and instead are simply robbing humanity blind with no concern for any guidelines in regards to the concepts upon which many of the people on the dark web believe in an act upon. It’s like pirates having rules like bedtime at 8 PM which which oddly enough was actually a rule but they also stopped people and daughter gold as long as they worked for the east India company they didn’t tend to rob actual fishermen or people who were doing their best to just simply get by and they also stopped doing that at 8 PM so there was a fair bit of evening time where upon you could pretty much guarantee you were not going to get attacked by pirates allowed everyone to get a good nights rest before being attacked by pirates the next day it was incredibly fair I can only assume the Pirates that did not believe in these mechanisms were treated as history describes-and it’s not describe kindly Large parts of me somewhat hopes that this premise is still somewhere out there being fully realized But I may be a bit jaded by the circumstances to be fair

Question of morality: Let suppose you're in a role of an elite system pwning master, but you got honor code or whatever. Will you as such person penetrate a system if you are gonna die in few days, where the target company has the cure but don't want to share it with you just so you can suffer, what will you do? Are you then evil or good if you take on the target? Even better non tech analogy, someone in front of you with guns is making fun of you waving with the cure in front of your face, mocking you, will you jump and take the bottle to survive or you will accept death?

It's a pet peeve of mine when ppl say threat to democracy. We have a Constitutional Federal Republic. We participate in federal elections where we have electoral votes. At a local level we democratically vote for our candidates. Wish people were more accurate about what the US really is. I notice that the main stream media does say "such and such is a threat to DeMoCrACY" a lot. If they are not accurate with that then what else are they not accurate in?
