A while back I was watching one of your videos and hubby walked by, stopped, stared at the computer screen and said "she's beautiful, her makeup isn't overdone, everything is perfect." He never said "she has thin fine hair." LOL! I think women worry about something nobody else notices. My hair is thinning, but at 71 I think that's normal, I always style my hair and everywhere I go I get compliments so I think I'm the only one who notices the thinning. I don't color my hair because I have a nice natural silver grey. What am I thankful for today -- my health, and my ability to still care for my home.

You always look lovely, Nikki. 2 years ago, I stopped coloring my hair...fearing the outcome and worried I'd look old. The gray streaks are in just the "right" place, looking awesome, especially the longer it gets. It's so nice to no longer mess with the color upkeep and I feel more confident rather than worrying about my roots showing.

I lost a ton of hair from medical issues a couple years ago. I have been letting my hair rest. No color or bleach, and gentle all natural hair cleaning and conditioning. I no longer use heat on it and little to no products in it. My hair is now the healthiest it has been since I was a small girl. :-) it is growing back thick and shiny.

I'm 50 with fine, soft, thinning hair. But I don't use heat or irons or color or even a dryer...wash twice a week with a more natural shampoo. I'm glad I have hair at all and yes, agree that acceptance and inner peace does more for beauty than lots of hair aids.

I’m really enjoying these videos. I am in my fifties and I am encouraged by hearing such wisdom from a young woman . I have coarse , curly hair -it’s looks much thicker than it is and I feel so much falls out every day but you can’t tell by looking at it . I do color it trying to keep it to the natural color it was when I was younger . As for what was special about today , I held my grandson for the first time , brought tears to my eyes and I wish these precious babies knew how much they are loved when they arrive in our families and that they would never forget it !! You are a beautiful woman , I have not noticed your hair being thin, just beautiful!

Fine thin hair girl here as well!... Sigh.... After much research and experience, wasting money on expensive Kerastase Institute customised treatments, I learned that the less we do to our thin hair the better. We can not overload it with too many products. Heat protection is crucial as well as good mask. Sometimes I put moisturising mask on my dry hair overnight, put my hair in a loose bun and sleep all night in it on an old pillow case. Then wash the hair in the morning. My little thing was doing my nails at home and coloring them pink.

This video actually made my day. I'm in Ireland and am watching this while going through my morning routine. What made me happy is to hear all this from a fellow thin haired girl :-) I'm still recovering from severe post partum hairloss and I'm sure you can imagine how heartbreaking it is to lose a lot (and I mean a LOT) of hair if you don't have any thickness of volume to begin with. So yes this video made me happy to hear I'm not alone and that it's all good :-)

My hair drastically changed after menopause. Not only did it start getting thinner from fall out; the actual hair strands get thinner as well resulting in a kind of frawzing texture. I made that word up lol kinda not exactly frizzy I quess.

The thing that made my day today was doing yoga with my young sons. We did this with a friend during a play date and it was the first time for their friend, and my boys were so happy to teach their friend how to do everything. I was so happy to have started sharing this with them long ago, and to see how much they all enjoyed the practice.

Hi Nikki , just watched your video on hair and I too can totally relate, I struggle with very fine hair and it’s very thin also. it’s always in a conundrum of trying to make it bigger than what it is. You are right as we age our hair does change dramatically and I’ve recently since Covid started decided not to color my hair anymore so I’ve just been letting the gray grow in which has been a nightmare thank you Jesus we’re staying in the house. I keep telling my husband if I just had one more year of Covid it would all be grown out and I could do something with it. But it does make me check myself when I start complaining because about 24 years ago I was diagnosed with a terminal form of leukemia they didn’t give me very long to live and I did chemo every day for four years straight during which I had no hair. So you can probably tell I didn’t die , and I am a miracle and grateful every day. But that also brings me to a new appreciation because I remember when my hair was growing back in I was so happy to have anything I said I would never ever complain about my hair again. It’s all perspective I see women who suffer with alopecia and have nothing to work with and then I think to myself just shut up what are you complaining about. Your hair always looks beautiful and I love when you wear the side bun it looks super cute on you and you’re right wearing it up does make it look like we have more volume. So shout out to all the women who struggle with thin hair let’s just divert their attention somewhere else on our body hence the eyelashes the jewelry or a beautiful lip color. We just learned to Rock or Beauty in another way. Stay safe beautiful❤️🙏✝️

I have thin hair too but I agree with you, there is something beautiful and feminine about having fine, soft, delicate hair as opposed to thick often coarse hair. I too realized that my “thin” hair was actually very nice when I was younger, but then became thinner as I got older. It’s funny, my son has the color of my hair but very thick. The woman who cuts his hair says it’s the thickest hair she’s ever seen. Why couldn’t I have gotten some of that haha.

Thinning hair especially in the crown has been a recent issue for me. It very well may be hormonal, so I'm taking a holistic approach. Wearing my hair down rather than in an updo, less stress on the tresses. Castor oil massages with rosemary, tea tree and peppermint essential oils added in. I also derma-roll my scalp as well as use a violet ray tool. It's like spa day for me😊 We named my friends new car Bessie Mae, so cute.🤭

Thank you for another beautiful video 💕 Yes I have a little trouble with flat hair but you helped me there. One of my favorite things was that our married son stopped n spent the night as he was in town for business. I got up early this morning and plugged in the Christmas trees and my Christmas breakfast room and fixed my son a nice hot breakfast. Then as I was tidying up I could glance and watch them talking and laughing together over breakfast. Another thing was watching my four year old granddaughter go get one of my notecards from my desk and asked if she could have some of my pretty floral stickers to use on her card. She worked and drew pictures and placed in an envelope ready to give away. 🥰-nancy

I love putting my hair up with fancy hair clips with that pearl or silver or gold look. I like taking baths too. Makes my skin softer since the water really gets in the pores. Someone asked me if I'm using lotion when I switched to mostly baths with my dove bar so I guess it does make a noticeable enough difference.

I also have very fine hair. Stylists always tell me that I have a lot of hair, but it’s super fine. A resolution I need to make is to stop torturing myself by looking at inspiration pictures of women who have coarse, extremely thick hair (or have extensions) and instead look at inspiration pictures of women with fine hair. I need to accept that no matter what I do, Bc my hair is so fine, I can’t have it super long without it looking thin & stringy. The hair is just too fine. But if I keep it around shoulder length it looks full, light & fresh. If I embrace my hair I can make it look it’s best.

I have thick but very fine wavy hair with oily roots and dry stands. Detangling with a wide tooth comb then using a boar bristle brush before washing helps to distribute oils. You can use a boar bristle brush on curly hair, but do it right before washing, after detangling dry hair. I think boar bristle would be really good for straight oily hair if you want to cut down on shampoo. At any rate, it helps with the oily root/dry strand problem for me. Just always use on completely dry hair.

We are happy about staying with family this holiday. I read from Rom. 13 and it was eye opening, it made me think of how some people are firm on not wearing a mask and some are firm on wearing masks. God showed me that we need to not judge each other even when our faith level is different. Or you know, just for anything that stumbles others to be respectful of others and not judgmental

Hi Nikki! After the birth of my second child I noticed that my hair didn't make a comeback after the normal post-pregnancy hair loss. I also started to lose the outer portion of my eyebrows. It turned out that I had a thyroid issue, but it took a long time to discover that! (I kept getting sick too...but I digress...). A thyroid supplement, diet change, using products without harmful chemicals, and biotin seemed to do the trick. Been doing it for almost 10 years now! For what it's worth I don't even notice your thin hair, you are stunning anyway!

My hair has thinned due to menopause and a medication. Keeping it shorter has helped by decreasing the weight of it, as well as coloring, which thickens hair shafts a bit. Since I really don’t like short hair (with neck & ears out) on me, I wear a ‘bob’ now. A good hairdresser can advise about cuts that can add volume, as well as products. Genetics also play a part. Your hair always looks nice and soft, so the regimen you use must be working!

Your hair reminds me of my own. I have been using dry shampoo so that I don't have to wash every day but it makes my scalp have issues so I've been trying to limit it again. Nioxin worked well for me at first but then it dried my hair/scalp out too much and made it terribly itchy. I'm also a huge bath lover! I do wash off and rinse with the showerhead after though.

The way it was explained to me, is that if you have fine AND thin hair, the oils travel the tresses of your hair easily and within a 24 hour period, you look like you haven't washed your hair in 3 days. I too have to wash my hair every day and I use Nioxin, but I have gone natural gray, so two days a week I use a purple shampoo to keep the yellow at bay. I've also recently discovered that saw palmetto in a low dose for women, can block DHT (the hormone that causes hair loss). I've been taking it for the past few months and seeing a difference. :-)

I have long (waist lenght) thick hair and i love it! However.... what you said about not being able to enjoy some things that people with thin hair enjoy is very true. For instance, I can never wear my hair in some sort of romantic updo because its just too heavy and wont hold. When I curl my hair, the curls stay for 30 mins and fall because the lenght and weight of my hair pulls them down. SO there are benefits and negatives to both hair types

Try curling with a wand. Use first a quality heat protectant, then the wand. With a wand, you are not clamping your fragile hair between two hot pieces of metal. All-Nutrient flat iron spray is the best I’ve found. All natural and very protective. Since you wash your hair daily, before your shampoo, put conditioner from mid-shaft down, then shampoo your scalp and rinse.

I am writing while watching, so hope I didn't miss where you said you didn't want any advice (I'm so sorry).. My hair has been on the thicker side but with age (I'm in my mid 40's) it was really changing. It was thinning, the texture was changing, it didn't look as full of life (even though I was hardly fixing it anymore... so not much damage.) and my hairline was moving up. My forehead was already high on the side, but I was starting to see it really change and it alarmed me. I started trying Monat fully because a friend I know well had been using it for a couple of years. I have to say, it really did start to improve. It really did get it's shine back, was stronger and baby hairs were growing back in along my hairline. (I don't sell it and am not ride or die all things Monat, but I did find it to be really helpful. ALSO Kristofer Buckle is a makeup artist that has his own line of makeup. I love it and he has makeup for the scalp. I love it. I even shaved the sides of my husband's hair once too close and we used it to fill it in - it totally worked! Below is a link to a demo (when the line was on QVC... now just on his website and at a lower price) and if you google his name it should pull up the site. I felt so freed when using it because it's a small thing you can do to look more youthful but also do any hairstyle. I felt so free to pull my hair straight back with no bangs or pull it up in a top knot. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/edanec9hz7qwhZc.html But I was the girl that had a friend in college tell me she wanted to do me a favor by letting me know that my hairline was too high to pull it back with no bangs :) (So this was a big deal for me when I started using it). You are beautiful of course and I actually found you while looking for tutorials on A'Del makeup. Because of you I did get one of their blush shades. xoxo

Over the last 6 mths my hair has been breaking off! It’s so distressing and would make me cry! I wash my hair twice a week which is fine for me and Iv been using Redken conditioner and shampoo. I take well woman 55+ vitamins and I only brush my hair now as I found that using a comb would pull out more hair. I have started to have more protein in my diet, I think that having poached eggs for breakfast 2/3 times a week has helped. X

Your hair always looks SOO beautiful Nikki!☺️💗 I used to have really thick hair, but then I was on some medication and then my hair started thinning. It’s not super thin, but definitely is nowhere near as thick as it used to be. I struggle with volume in my hair and prefer wearing my hair up more, because when it’s down, it’s so flat and it bothers me. Haha But I also try to wear it down too since my hubby likes it down best.☺️ I wash my hair about every 2-3 days, and that works for me. I’ve been trying to figure out heatless styles because I really don’t like the way my hair feels when I curl or straighten it... it just feels fried.😂 Anyways, I enjoyed hearing about your hair care routine and what you do!💗

I have inherited thinning hair. I just turned 60. I use a hair powder on my parting and it really camouflages the area so it doesn't draw attention.

Hi, Nikki, Would you share what type of soap or body wash you use on your body? Do you use a wash cloth or a beauty puff? Many thanks.

Will you do a what’s in my bag? Also do you freshen yourself up before your husband comes home? I love the older movies where women would go to the “powder room” and freshen themselves up.

I did one in the past, I may share something like that soon. Yes, when I started "The Little Things" series that's what it was based around, refreshing oneself midday. It makes a huge difference for yourself and your husband or anybody around you.

Hi Nikkie, You should try Neutral Henna “Cassia obovata “ at home treatment for your hair!! I use it on mine and on my mother’ s hair, my mother has Slavic origin and her hair are really blonde and thin, and cassia and other herbs which sticks to the hair give volume and thickness over time! If you use only Cassia your colour won’t change, you shoul stir the Cassia in some warm homemade linen seed gel to maintain some hydration on the hair (there are plenty of video on KZfaq)

Nikki your hair matches your features, which are soft, delicate and beautiful. I’ve never noticed that it’s thin. My hair is thick and long but I’m 48 and it’s getting quite course on the top....I’m constantly touching it and it feels horrible! So I really wouldn’t worry xx

I also have very fine hair. So do my mom and sisters and daughters. Mine is long and healthy, but I have never had it permed and rarely curl it because my mom and some of my sisters have so much trouble with breakage. I also always air dry it and don’t even own a blow dryer. It works for me, but I am often sad that I don’t get to really enjoy the volume that curls would give me. Oh well, the grass is always greener, right? 😩😄

My hair has thinned as well. I need to get blood work to check my thyroid levels. Also I have heard from Jennifer jenkins channel there are some medicines that have a certain color dye that can cause hair loss.

Oh , this is a dilemma. I am not sure about the daily washing routine but certainly understand the need. Have you tried collagen supplements? Even bone broth to help build up the required protein for hair and more importantly bone health. Also a nutritionist should be able to help too. Good luck 🍀

4 years ago I started to lose a lot of hair, like the way it was after I had each of my children. I ended up going to the doctor who told me that it could be ageing but it could also be anaemia or an underactive thyroid gland. After some blood tests it was discovered that I had an underactive thyroid gland and was started on medication which improved things. As for the royals, a couple of months ago I visited the Royal Britannia Yatch in Edinburg (Scotland) which used to belong to the Queen. In it you could see her daily routine and the first thing every morning she did was to have a bath with a cup of tea. 😊

Question: Does putting the oil in the bath make the tub slippery? Also, I'm amazed at how many ways you can put your furniture. Every time I see those narrow cabinets you have, I giggle because they're always in new places (and the same with your desk). At 68, I do struggle with hair loss. Always had lots of hair, but the crown is showing some pink scalp. It's probably partly menopause, but also had some thyroid issues (supposedly) and I stopped taking the med and hair loss is less, but new growth hasn't happened (I'm trying selenium and iodine in foods for the thyroid instead of the med). The good side of menopause was that I no longer have dermatitis, so I guess it's a trade off. I use apple cider and water rinse to keep the build up of conditioner down.

There is definitely a certain kind of beauty to thinner, fine hair. It looks delicate, creates a soft frame around the face. My own hair is very thick and curly, and I have come to a place where I'm at peace with it, and I like it. It was a journey to get there though! That pursuit of the ideal beauty is futile. I remember your video where you shared about your thought process in removing the extensions and making peace with your hair type. It was beautiful, and you are beautiful. Thank you for sharing! Just lovely!

I had always had thin hair so years ago I would get perms and use products to plump it up but that's all over now. I'm 65 so different approach. I have Hashimotos so my hair continues to be on the thin side. I have Hashimotos and my endocrinologist put me on Vit D 3, and Biotin daily. I also researched how to get those vitamins naturally in the foods I eat daily. In over a year my hair has doubled in thickness. That's my experience with thinning hair. I also take baths to remove toxins and impurities. I soak two ways, one is epson salts and the other is apple cider vinegar and could do both together if you want. You new arranging of furniture sounds lively, please show us both rooms.

Thanks for the video. I was wondering whether you moisturize your skin after each bath or just occasionally. I have noticed other youtubers talk of doing this and they say they always lotion their children's skin after each bath. Where I am from this is not done as often. I was wondering if this was an American thing?? Maybe because of the air conditioning?? Thanks, Jerusha (John's wife)

My hair is thick and it's a pain to manage. Most shampoos make it a frizzy mess so I'm limited on which ones I can use. Then they discontinue it or change the formula and I'm running around with bad hair for days until I find something good again. It makes my neck hurt when it gets too long. I have to keep it shoulder length or shorter if I want to keep it nice in a hurry. It tangles easy. It has it's pros but it also has its cons. I think the grass can look greener for all of us.

Interestingly, I just noticed my hair feeling thinner last week and began wonder what to do. I had cut it a little myself about a month ago following a YT. Video because I am unable to go to a salon for safety reasons since I take care of mom. I will look into biotin I think that's what you mentioned. I loved it when mom used to change the furniture around. Also, ( a just curious question)- Was there a time in the past when you mentioned you did not celebrate the custom of Christmas (birth of Jesus ) in December or am I confusing you with another you tube channel??

Long time subscriber, first time commenter 🥰 my question is actually about slips. Most of them are made out of nylon or polyester because it’s a slippy material that allows for clothing to, Wella slip smoothly over it... don’t you ever find that it gets hot or sweaty? I’m terrified of fabrics that don’t breathe, and living in Miami where there’s so much heat and humidity, I’m so weary of trying slips and finding myself uncomfortable and damp 😭 advice, please!

Please look up Josie and see what she puts in her hair to add volume. I have very dry hair and body. So I only wash my hair once a week as I was brought up to do. I have been blessed with thick full hair except after giving birth or trauma like after corona or Rex’s t,y after a bad fall on my head. So at time of trauma my hair thins and leaves baldish spots. I use castor oil and some other oils from 5e beauty shop and I massage and massage and massage and it takes weeks and then I see my hair recovering and I can breather a sigh of relief. I do not use any heat products in my hair at all.

Thank you for the video your hair always looks lovely and well groomed. I have very very thick hair, it was nearly down to my waist, and my grandchildren are always coming over and giving me nits😂. I had it so many times my hair has started to fall out at the front. So I had my hair cut to just below a Bob length it's more manageable and I have stopped tieing it bag because it was pulling at the front of my hair, so hopefully I can keep the problem away. I have been putting hair spray on when the children come around. But we all find problems with the way are hair is, we just have to find what suits each one of us. God bless you

What a beautiful, kind and astute comment! I have to agree. Nikki has delicate, balanced and refined features, overall a very symmetrical and neat look. Thick hair would possibly detract from that. I have fine hair, but quite a lot of it. I can’t do long hair or layers and like you Nikki, I have to wash it every day. Too much product makes it lay completely flat to my scalp. I dyed it for years as I greyed prematurely, but I haven’t coloured it for the past five and it’s been a battle to disregard all the images we see, everywhere, of luscious, thick locks and appreciate what I have. I know this video is older but I hope you and other viewers have made peace with their own hair which really does have its own beauty 🤗
