I received a beautiful hand written letter from my sister today she lives in Australia and I in New Zealand . We are in contact everyday but opening the letter I was so excited she wrote about her day included a recipe card with her favourite cookie recipe. It was like I was sitting at the kitchen table with her I was so happy and all I could do was cry . I miss her so much I have tried not to focus on that but all of a sudden we were sisters in the park reading books together sharing our dreams . I felt your sorrow today Nikki and I appreciate the way you let us see it . Your heart is full and bursting with love . With love comes loss. In Jesus we must rest with this knowing like him love is infinite 💖

💐 Nikki, Thank you SO MUCH for just sitting and visiting for awhile!!! I really needed this today. I would give anything to be able to watch my Grandma go into the kitchen first thing in the morning, squeeze her half of a lemon into a glass of hot water and drink it. I saw this continually growing up. It was just part of her daily AM routine. One time when I was an adult, it suddenly dawned on me, “Why does she drink this”? When I asked her, she said that years before she heard this would prevent arthritis. I don’t believe she ever had it either and she lived to be 93! It runs in the family too because my Mother got it. And I also battle it some. I never saw my Mother or my Grandma with their hair not fixed, their faces powdered, and their dresses on once they got up. To this day, my Mother, who is 96 with Alzheimer’s, gets up and showers and tries to fix her hair and powder her nose and she can’t remember what happened 1 minute ago. Her lifetime habits are still there. Thank you for making me feel better today 😊👛👠💄💕🌸👍

You're so very blessed to have your Grandparents so close by. I live in Canada and my grandparents live in Germany. Once every 2 years they come for a visit but it's just not enough. I call them once every couple of weeks and it's so hard being so far away from them. I miss them not being here with us for the special occasions or even for just a random visit or a piece of advice over a cup of tea. That's my priority for tomorrow, to call and chat. My little thing for today. We are raising our Kids to love God and to know that they can come to him for every little thing that comes their way. So this evening he went to Bed and somehow banged his hips. He got out of Bed and complained, I told him that it'll be alright. He left, only to appear a few minutes later and ask us to pray for him for God to heal him. He'll be 4 in February ❤️ So thankful to experience these little moments and glad to see these lessons take root in his heart.

The beautiful thing that filled my heart today was I finally was able to admit to myself that I needed help with something. I am always the capable one that is there for others, but I realized in this one situation, I needed help. I phoned up a dear friend and told her my troubles and asked for help, and without hesitation she said she would be "honoured to be there for me." That just meant the world to me.

What a beautiful story about the gentleman, a kind smile or hello can brighten my day to. I have lost my grandparents when I was very little, one of my grandmothers died when my mother was pregnant with me, I always wonder what our relationship would be like. So nice to see that you have such a good relationship with them. I also love your set up in the bathroom, makes me want to find beautiful containers for my lotion. I am from the Netherlands where it can be dark and cold and the seasons change quickly. When I am watching this video, the sun is setting and shines on my garden. That is one of my favorite things about autumn, together with the trees changing colors.

thank you so much for this, I lost my grandmother 3 weeks, also on the day she passed we lost an aunt, they died hours of each other, 2 very strong women of the family and we pray we make them proud. My grandpa has been in Heaven and I talked to him that day, told him he had received his wife and sister on the same day. I truly feel your sadness, we miss them tremendously, but we realize they lived such blessed lives, 92 and 102 respectively. My mind knows their well but my heart isn't there yet. It’s like this in all of life I think. Thinking back to when my children were younger, I miss those days. We are always busy doing something and before you know it the time has passed. I lost my 2 Grandmothers within a month of each other 2 years ago now. I have their photos on my dresser, and look at them regularly and talk to them. They were 94 and 95. I know they had to go but I miss them. I guess the lesson is to try and live in the moment more 😍

Hello, it is so beautiful how you are helping your grandparents. You are right, time flies so fast, so enjoy the present instant with them as often as you can. And also gently talk to them while you are with them, even if it's about little things :) If they can hear your voice, it means so much to them. And most of all, if they can talk with you, and wish to answer your questions... ask them about everything you would like to know - things about their past, their parents' or grandparents' past, beautiful or special memories, their thoughts and advice on things. Because one day, you may wish you could ask them, and it won't be possible anymore. I'm a grandmother too now - still young and in good health - but I often wish I could ask things to my parents or grandparents today - if only I could travel back in time, even for a little while! They gave me so much, offered me so much, so in a way I feel they are still with me everyday in some way, but there are still things I'd like to ask them, and I miss them so much. What helps me is that I truly spent all the time I could with them, I was there for them in every way I could, and have millions of wonderful memories with them. So cherish these precious moments and find comfort knowing your grandparents will always live with you in your heart. Thank you for this very touching and personal video!

My Mom will be in heaven 20 years on the 24th of this month. I still miss her so much and like you I took care of her and it is a very hard thing to do because you love them so much, and watching them slowly leave this world the only thing that got me through this is I know she is in heaven no more pain are suffering. The story you told about the man you would see walking and you had a sadness because you did not see him for a few days that is the compassion I would like to see in this world again. I am so glad he is ok.That is so why I love watching your video's. Nikki, I’m glad that you mentioned your grandparents in this video. I’ve been meaning to let you know how inspired I was by your caretaking for them. I began praying for a small ranch house within walking distance to come on the market for my in-laws so that I could temd to them as they age. One finallly did and they are so happy to be close by and my children get to have a stronger relationship with them now. Your modeling of the importance of this kind of honoring is a beautiful example. It would be wonderful to hear more about your journey with them as time goes on. Thank you

I know this will sound funny but the small thing I am thankful for today is that my son got sick. I was up late last night helping my husband get ready for a hunting trip with our oldest child, so I overslept this morning. When I woke up some of my children were already awake and fighting. I called them in so I could find out what was going on, but they just continued to fight. My smallest curled up next to me in bed, seizing the opportunity of a cuddle and then got sick all over me. Poor baby! But something wonderful happened... my fighting children instantly got their eyes off themselves and began to care for their brother. They helped me get him in the bath, made him a bed on the couch. Got him a drink, and all of their previous complaints about each other were completely forgotten. One of them even went a step further and when the toddler was all clean a settled saw to making breakfast for everyone else. I love my children! And honestly I was starting to fall into the same complaining attitude that they were in until I too got my eyes off myself to count my blessings and cherish the moment! Your videos the last few days were a timely reminder! Also in case this is helpful to anyone. I have the exact same Gal Meets Glam dress. I am 7 months pregnant and can still wear it because of the higher waist and I get compliments every time I wear it. They are great dresses!

Oh I could feel your pain talking about your Grammy. These indeed are very special bitter sweet moments. My favorite quote is “ your only job is to notice the sacred moments” and that’s exactly what you were doing as you watched her. Thanks for the shout outs. Also I might add to your viewer who sent the question about launder care is when in doubt was in the coldest of water. Warm to hot water does shrink natural fibers but not synthetic. My little moment was working out on my treadmill thinking about how one year for Halloween my girls were dressed as fairies and we surprised my dad and knocked on his door for treats and I thought I can’t do that this year and the tears just flowed. Moving ones body helps push out emotions trapped in us, that’s what I keep discovering. 💗

Hi Nikki, it's so difficult to see our loved ones get old. My dad has been slowing down the last two years and I don't like thinking about it. I know that I need to treasure the time I am with him, ask family history questions, and most importantly, take a lot of pictures. My dad lives for his great-grandbabies. They should be coming into town next week and we are going to surprise my dad. He hasn't met the youngest of his great-grandsons, who will be turning 1 in December. :)

When you first came out with your paintings I ordered a rose painting and have it framed in my home office. My home office has lots of pink and feminine touches...I have been very inspired by you to go for that look in there. Recently, I ordered your stationary and I keep it on my desk so I can easily write a quick note when it occurs to me. I even saved to packaging and note you sent because it’s so pretty and inspires me to take time wrapping things in a beautiful way. I bought some wax and seals and use that on the envelopes of my stationary...and I got some beautiful floral stickers for the front of the envelopes.. and I even got a calligraphy pen 🖋 to try and learn to write more beautifully when I’m addressing letters. So...the point is...a simple stationary order has really been a big shift for me in terms of trying to be more gracious with sending beautiful letters sometimes for no reason other than I was just thinking of the person. But knowing that the package arrives so beautifully...like your package arrived to me...makes me feel good. 😊❤️

oh my goodness Nikki... It is so terribly hard to see parents/grandparents deteriorate ... Your emotions are completely normal. You are to be commended on giving your time to care for them. (as well has helping out the gentleman from your church group).. Sometimes these things can seem to be burdensome; but it's amazing how much more uplifted and positive we feel once we're there helping and being in their presence. I admit, I'm equally guilty of burying my nose into my phone when looking after my elderly parents; and do need to check myself for the exact reasons you mentioned. Moments to be cherished. How adorable are your children to create such a lovely set up with tea-lights for your cake!.. Children have such untainted enthusiasm for such things, which helps brings out that childish joy in us as well. I admire your bathroom set up Nikki.. It must be the most wonderfully scented room .. Roses are such healing and loving flowers.. And I agree, the silver decanters are perfect... it adds a slightly more "antique" look which blends with your style. We would love to see you share some more of your pretty vignettes around your home.. Today, my "little thing" was capturing a few moments of total stillness that enabled me to stop and listen to my heart. I was so surprised, you read out my comment.. Your poise and voice made it sound beautiful. Thank you. Sending you best of luck for the yard sale.. There must be some treasures in there for sure. :) Helen x

Nikki, what a blessing that you are able to care and spend that time with your grandparents, God will reward you a hundredfold for all the good works you do and with so much love and care! Cried with you, so important for us to live in a present especially as most people as you said are just with their heads down on their phones, let's try to be more present in our daily lives, lots of love and hope yard sale goes well x

Belated birthday wishes to you Nikki. Hope you have a wonderful year ahead despite the trying times. Savour the little things. I have realised that the little things bring us more joy than anything else. It is also the little things that can disturb us and wreak havoc in our lives. Every video that you put up is so graceful and calming. You appear so confident and poised. You inspire me to do better and give more attention to the little things in our lives that can make everything better for everyone. Your theme of 'Little things' is so apt to your personality as well as to the kind of things that should be in focus especially during these trying times that the entire world is going through, whether it is for you in the U.S or me here in India. Looking forward to your frequent videos through which we can all draw inspiration from the little things that you share. Thank You

Thank you so much for answering the question about laundering the gal meets glad dresses! I thought they were not an option for me because of the dry clean only label... But that's helpful and exciting... Because now they are an option for me!

For my birthday today, my youngest made a banner that said Happy birthday and a sign for the window seal ..it had a pumpkin colored on it and said happy birthday as well. I got several sweet drawings and homemade cards (my favorite) the my order daughter did the decorating of the cake ( she is 12) I had a performance put on for me and part of that was the give mommy 75 hugs event. Just a real sweet day

Dear Nikki, I can feel your sadness and your fears for your grandparents. And I am so happy to see, that even in these very tough times, you can find some beautiful moments to be grateful for. For 8 years I have been the punching ball of my ex-husband (with several stays in hospital) when I finally had the courage to escape with my 5 kids, I had a burn-out and I had to quit my job as a teacher (because I was no longer able to teach). I then went back to university and (as an at that moment single mom) made another degree and switched my career (I now work in a palliative care unit in a hospital). Then (1 year after the separation) I found out that my ex-husband, not only has been violent and abusive with me during our marriage, but he also had rapped my 2 daughters. And finally now in March (when lockdown started) my ex-husband finally kidnapped my 2 youngest sons and I haven't seen them since March. Nevertheless, I try to not lose hope and my faith. The dying patients I accompany on their last way, have so much to show me, that I am still able to find beauty and hope in the small things. I wish you and your whole family all the best and may God bless you 🥰

It's the little things that you miss and wish you can get back. On June 20th my sweet son will be gone 2yrs, he died on his 25th birthday from a drunk driver going the wrong way on the interstate. She hit my son's car head on killing him instantly. Losing my parents was hard, losing my late husband of 28yrs was harder, but losing my son was the hardest thing I ever had to deal with. Thankfully the Lord, my new husband, my other 2 sons, some family and friends have helped me get through it. I miss him so much, his smile, his laugh. Please cherish the little things cause one day that's all that you'll have left. God bless you, love your sweet videos and your caring heart.

My mother is caring for her mother who is only 14 yrs older than her. It's kind of scary to me actually, to see the swift decline of her mind. That's not that long from now for my mom. And I am so close to her.

My husband's grandmother passed away last week and her funeral was held two days ago here in Las Vegas. She had 21 grandchildren, 36 greatgrandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. It's a great testament because she was going to commit suicide and murder her six children years ago when they were yet small because of hardships. That day that she was going to commit that atrocity, a neighbor knocked on the door and told her that Jesus loved her. Those words impacted her and changed her life and legacy forever. She gave her life to Jesus, was used to lift up a church in Mexico, had three children who are pastors, and left lots of offspring, and an eternal heritage of love for Christ. Edit: I forgot to mention that one great grandbaby was born today bringing joy and life this sorrowful week. Nikki, I saw grandma's health decline, and I was able to help the family during this time. May the Lord strengthen you through others. It's okay to weep because it is definitely part of the healing. Enjoy these moments with your grandmy and cherish your family.
